  1. ti point reptile park in Leigh is a good visit if you like reptiles but being winter there might not be much out
  2. gee do you think they would do as much damage as domestic cats? I would have thought they would have kept them as a protected species considering we now have protected rats! wonder how long until beardies, w/dragons, litoria frogs and leopard gecko go the same way
  3. lol, will be too rich for me, why spend all that money on a fish when I could get more reptiles, plus would like to see go to someone who would breed them
  4. hmm thiis will be interesting to watch, does anyone know if any have actually been sold or were all the potential buyers that said they would just talk..
  5. hmmm nice but I think it has just too much rockwork, if you like I could take some off your hands in return for some dirt which would look much better!
  6. how many reptiles does the doc guy keep?
  7. I would definately lose the shade cloth and go small mesh inside with larger mesh on the outside. - shade cloth can be ripped, will hold moisture in winter creating a colder enclosure and will create shade. - would recommend one side solid ply - for wind shelter, and the other three double mesh or one with glass for viewing. also what doors do you have for feeding (small) and large (changing plants, cleaning or catching the gecko)? if you are making 10 better getit right now aye? have you joined the NZHS herp society?
  8. hard to see from the photos but is the shade cloth on the inside and the large mesh on the outside? The two types of mesh should have an approx gap of 25mm between them to make them predator proof, also on most native enclosures an aluminium or s/steel mesh is usually used as the inside mesh.
  9. what about this sort of look
  10. that is cheap - could charge a couple of hundred and still be ok should have permit system for exotics as well
  11. lol you guys crack me up! - I love the forums, would be even more fun over some beers
  12. Alan, are you talking about Green Igauna's? or a very large cat If so you do realise they (Iguana) are herbivores don't you? Each to their own, if they were legal I would have them, same with snakes and crocs
  13. I am just in the process of trying a couple of smaller sankenecks in with a planted tank ( java fern etc ) and fish (feeder) guppies and platties, will see if they breed fast enough to survive, if it works will be cool
  14. Does this really surprise anyone!
  15. I think they have glands that make them stink, my beardie has allways taken them when offered but am really thinking of my frogs and gecko instead of locusts and crickets - am sick of the egg process. the black ones don't seem to climb and I have been feeding them on leftovers ( same as I put in the compost ) - would have thought they would have been pretty good eating
  16. I have a group of these cochroaches and want to know if they are suitable for breeding up and feeding out? scientific name "Platyzosteria novaeseelandiae" As per usual all I can find is how to erradiacate them on the web
  17. sent them around 10 requests over thelast year about this with no change
  18. as caznkats said, I put down thick wads of newspaper when not using areas of the vege garden, provides mulch and stops the weeds and...cheap
  19. Had both "Rotary and V8" and loved both, never wanted a rotary until I drove one.....
