hey alan ive seen your setup when i got some plants off you thats is when i started to think about getting them but now that my new fishroom is done(ish) i want to get them

i am getting very tempted to get the striatum to start with. currently on tm 1m 10f. for $30. would it work if i put 2 or 3 females in a tank and put the male in 1 then a few days after i see eggs move him to the next tank and so on. then at a later date get lots of different killis if i do buy them i feel an even worse case of MTS comming on :bounce: If i decide to buy some killis which is what i am more than likely going to do how do i go about joining the NZKA thanks

ah ok so with mop spawners would plants like java moss work or is wool best. and a 25cm cube tank would be ok for a trio aye

i was thinking of using a tank with a sheet of mesh 5cm above the bottom so when they drop the eggs they fall thru. kind of like 1 of those guppy breeders but it is a tank :lol:

what would be good sized tanks for breeding them and keeping them in.

our last power bill was about $260 p/m and i have about 3500L in tanks atm. there is also 4 of us here. and our 3 computers never get turned off and we are running a swimmimg pool pump for 12 -14 hours a day. this is now with the new fishroom. when i just had my tanks in the spare room the power bill was $400 - $450 p/m

DO NOT wash the aquatic mix and be very careful when you fill the tank with water.

my 15cm pleco uprooted my sword and the have HUGE roots but then again that could have been the 20cm shark lol

change the pleco with a bristlenose or 2 the pleco will destroy the plants

all the building work is done and i have got 5 tanks setup so far just checked the them of the room and it is 27*c i am just trying to get all the fish out there now last night i was putting the malawis into there new 600L tank and it took me about 2 hours to catch them all :lol: my 550L planted tank is running but i need to add more plants and ive got a couple of discus tanks setup in there i plan to get all the plants in the planted tank today and hopefully the fish too i still need to take pictures of the room :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

think you've got trouble ive just setup a 600L Malawi tank 1.2m x .75m x .75m and its on a .90m high stand.

lol i take them from our garden how long can they be left in the tank??

haha no it was just going to be temp tank but i have found a new way around it i already have four silver sharks which will be going in my 380L Tank And my Discus are going in the 550L planted tank

Can discus live in a tank with silver sharks the shark is 20cm long
