  1. What a shame!! Only four people came tonight including myself. Thanks Sarah, Geoff and Liam. Tonights meeting was to have been to discuss the direction of the club for the rest of this year and into next. Unfortunately we were unable to do this due to a lack of members present. On another note: We are holding a sausage sizzle at The Warehouse, Newmarket on the Saturday after Labour Weekend. This is to raise funds to host Conference 2013. I am looking for volunteers to help on the day. If you can spare some time please email me. This is an important fundraiser as we do not want to have to use club funds if it can be avoided.
  2. Fantastic, if you do get stuck for a ride I can pick you up! Just flick me a pm if needed, not an email as we are changing provider
  3. The October AFA meeting will be held on Tuesday 9 October at the Green Bay Community Centre starting at 7.30pm. If anyone has plants for sale or to swap please bring them along.
  4. I am not breeding either. I have a blue plakat dumbo male and a blue plakat female.
  5. Siamese Algae Eater also known as Blackline Flying Fox. The black stripe running along the body also extends through the tail. Flying Fox, the black line stops at the tail.
  6. Depending on how much bba is in your tank a safer way to dose may be by using a syringe to inject the excel directly on the plants. Works well and it means you can stick within the recommended dosing levels.
  7. hmmm Does your fish appear okay? Maybe the test kit is faulty, is it still current or did it expire some time ago. Lots of questions but I am trying to work out why
  8. May sound like a silly question but is your filter working?
  9. A definite no no for plants. Only other snails are the malaysian trumpet snails and ramshorn snails. Both are capable of multiplying rapidly. Why do you want a snail?
  10. Maybe it is relevent. Not everyone will have done economics, business or that sort of thing.
  11. Debate and discussion is all fine and good but I am not sure why this has to go on and on and on again, every time someone asks a question about where to buy food. Its old and its boring and I really am tired of reading the same old thing over and over.
  12. As the title says I am looking for a current financial FNZAS member to come and verify a breeding so I can register it. I am in Epsom. The fish are 30 days old on Tuesday and as we move the following week I want to do it before I run the risk of them dying from stress during the shift. Can you pm me if you can help. Thanks
  13. If you are going to have a tank you need to make sure you have personal liability insurance in case your tank splits or breaks. Commerical business like the University Halls will have a huge insurance excess and if your tank damages their carpet in any way they will come back to you for the costs. Believe me, I have been there and am still sorting out a similar incident.
  14. Try - you wanna email me that logo with the phone number on it?
  15. My opinion has nothing to do with the prices, a question was asked and I gave the answer. However I do feel strongly about this sort of discussion on here - it should be conducted through pm's. Promoting undercutting the very shops that bring in the fish we purchase will not benefit any one.
  16. I am 99% certain you will not be covered once you leave home. Check around insurance companies, some are pretty nit picky when its a group of individuals flatting.
  17. This thread is way off topic :smot: The LFS support our hobby and have to pay way more to bring in food because they are selling it. For the amount of food the average (note I said average) hobbiest goes through, support your local shops and you will find that in the long run they will support you.
  18. I would hold off getting a tank until you get a flat. If you are the main tenant then anyone moving in with you will have to do so on your terms. If you are moving into an existing flat, it will be up to the others if they want a tank in the place and whether or not the landlord is happy with it. You will need your own insurance because if anything happens like the tank breaking or mould on the carpets you will need to pay for the damage.
  19. just click on your edit on that particular post and remove that bit. Thanks
  20. I did not write that! Please can you edit your post!
