I feed the green water to my daphnias and then the daphnias to the fry
I actually don't think the fish give a toss about it. And in fact I use it to keep my killi fry from fighting, as there seems always more males than females...
If they cannot see each other its much quieter in the tank
My leopards are all by themselves in a huge tank with plenty of fine plants - I use Cabomba and spiral Valisneria.
They do eat the fry to a degree and i would probably get three times as many if I would keep them separate in nets where the fry can fall through when born.
However there is always plenty to sell and no extra work...
My (adult) bristlenoses will indeed graze the top of the leaves until they die. However the kids are fine. If I feed them plenty of zuchini, cucumber and peas they will leave the plants alone.
Well when I put up a thread (not even a link) about an auction for the illegal yellow iris it was removed - or am I just too stupid to find it again (which is very well possible)?
Julidochromis transcriptus - and today I saw the first babies.
On looking closer there are actually two different sizes there, while the parents take turns giving something in the cave lots of fresh water
Has anybody else bred these?
What do the babies eat?
Alan that is what I wondered - ARE Cories sensitive to copper or not? It seems to be a wild mix of stuff in this bottle.
This is the first time ever that I have to treat cories, so not quite sure what they can handle and what not - hence the question if anybody has used this stuff on cories before - and did they survive the treatment LOL.
Has anybody used "Wunder Tonic" on cories?
With success?
Or deaths?
Its a mix of:
1.5% methylene blue,
0.1% malachite green,
0.05% acriflavine,
0.04% quinine.
Thanks for any info
Hi Billaney - at least there is hope that we might get some fry at some stage. Just getting worried that these fat things may pop
Have even considered putting some other corydoras males in to prevent that from happening....
Sorry I didn't read your post properly.
Of course you CANNOT use the fish I suggested above in an overflow system like you describe.
I thought of an isolated pond in a paddock surrounded by grass only.
White Cloud Mountain Minnows are good for that as are ordinary goldfish (comets). Or put some guppies in in the spring and fish them out before the temp drops below 15 degrees.
Yes westport caryl. I didn't dare put a link in (cause the last one got removed) so I just copied the title of the auction.
Can anybody comment on the auction?
Livebearers have a very small stomach and need to eat almost continuously all day.
I always leave some plants with algae in there so they have some greens to nibble at in between meals.
To get them to grow fast install one of these brineshrimp hatchers in the tank and they will have continuous fresh live food appearing day and night for them to snack on.
