  1. just turning 3 months and he had a shed this week, and afterwards I noticed on one of his hind legs, two of his claws have gone. He lives by himself so hasnt had a fight with anyone but he does have a polystyrene back wall that he loves to climb, in fact he sleeps hanging from it, so Im guessing he must have lost his claws in that. Does anyone have any experience of their beardies loosing their nails, and is it likely they will grow back again. Also, for beardies back legs, their longest toe on their feet, on my fella his longest toe is always quite curvey. He can straighten it but i see it more often curvy than straight. It has always been like that ever since i got him. Does it sound normal. Thank you.
  2. What kind of fish is that awesome looking fella in the last photo. And how long is he. He looks so cool.
  3. that tropical fish eat. And if so, would it be okay for a ten week old beardie. Thanks.

  5. Do you just have your worms in potting mix or peat or what?? Thank you.
  6. use for them. I have heard about peat and also spent potting mix - what would be best. And, sorry for the dumb question, what does "spent" potting mix mean if thats the best option. What would i look out for to make sure i have got the correct potting mix. What brand would be best?? Thank you so much.
  7. them, what would be the best live food and the best vegetables. Also, what is the correct temperature the enclosure should be kept at. Also, how often should they get given calcium and how often should they be given vitamins. Sorry for so many questions. Thank you.
  8. This is the brand that was on offer at the pet shop i am getting my beardie from, is this a good brand, and what other brands do you guys use or would you recommend for the equipment needed for beardies. Thank you.
  9. Thanks, it wasnt actually the sun i was worried about it was the exact opposite, as it doesnt get much sunshine as its blocked by the garage, i was more concerned if a draft would get in somehow, i am going to put foamseal on the windows first. But would the equipment that they have in there enclosure, ie heat lamp etc which i am slowly learning about, keep them from catching any chill in the air.
  10. I am totally new to bearded dragons, and get my little guy in a few weeks. Is it okay to have his enlosure beside my fish tank, and is it okay to have it by a window. I would not be opening the window at all. I would appreciate any advice, esp if you think this would be a bad idea so i know . Thanks.
  11. What is so amazing about her is she has a personality to match her years. She is in a six foot tank and spends so much time in one little corner right up beside me. I am going to try and put some photos on tonight, but my computer skills arent so good. I can't imagine life without her she is like my daughter.
  12. I have a bad habit of bragging about her. I can't seem to help myself. She is my pride and joy. The staff there are so friendly too. Thank you for your post it made my day.
  13. Clown Loach. I will put a nice updated photo of her on soon.
  14. Queens birthday weekend twenty five years ago, I adopted Sweety into my family. Happy birthday Sweety. Love you lots and lots, Your very proud Mum xxxx
  15. I would love to know anything at all about this type of fish, ie likes and dislikes, temperament, anything at all . Thank you.
  16. Wow what a beautiful looking friend you have.
  17. It does cover the entire base of the tank except for say about 2mm on one of the ends, where it overlaps the poly. Could that cause problems. It took two men to lift it even when it was empty as it is made of 12mm glass. And when the men were placing the tank down, one of then got there hand/glove caught underneath the tank, which ended up leaving an imprint on the poly.
  18. I am very worried about the polystyrene under my six foot fish tank that I have set up. The water stones and plants are all in. Also some fish. I was hoping to move Sweety in to her new home but I cant help feeling concerned about the polystyrene. It is a six foot tank and when the pet shop got the tank made and it was delivered, what they had done was glued two pieces of 10mm polystyrene together to make a total of 20mm and placed this under my fish tank. They were originally only going to supply 10ml but I asked for a thicker piece because I was advised it was best for this size tank. I was a bit surprised when I discovered all they had done is glued 2 pieces together. The two pieces, top and bottom, were placed reasonably even, on top of the other, although not perfectly even, ie about 1 mm overhang from the top to bottom in some parts. Sorry for rambling. Anyway the shop I purchased this from is a very well known reputable shop, so I did not like to question them any more. However I have just received some High density polystyrene from another supplier, for another purpose, and since receiving this, have discovered the polystyrene the pet shop placed under the tank is not high density - but 'alot' softer. The tank and polystyrene are sitting on a very solid straight wooden base, but I cant help feeling very concerned that something will go wrong. The water has been in the tank about 4 weeks now and there have been no problems. Along the front end between the tank and poly, I guess because I am taking extra notice of it now, I have discovered that I am able to slip a thin piece of paper a wee way underneath the tank, not sure how far it will slip along, as I dont really like to try too far. SO I guess in short does anyone think I may experience problems in the future due too soft poly being used instead of high density, under my six foot tank, which is sitting on a solid wooden base. I posted this in beginners too as I wasnt sure where the best place to put this concern would be.
  19. Our tap ph is very high about 7.8 and I usually add PH down drops to the weekly water changes. For my new tank set up, so far there are no fish in it only plants, I would appreciate advice re lowering it. ie Just add ph drops to lower it and if so would it be okay to work out how many drops are needed and do it all at ones, or do it gradually. Or does anybody else have any suggestions for me. Thanks.
  20. Hi, Sweety was thrilled to hear she has become a celebrity. I would say from one tip to the other she is about a foot long. I have had her for over 20 years and she is blind in one eye. She has real personality and is a people fish. She can be very active and play with her stones, but she also enjoys laying down and sleeping alot too. I love her to pieces. I can't wait to see her settled in her new home.
  21. Thank you Antwan for your help with making Sweety a star.
  22. Is it possible to ever have too much filtration in a fish tank. Thanks.
  23. but am not very computer literate and think its too big. Will work on it though. Failing that I could always email you a pic if you like.
