We are treatiing her for bacteria as he feels this is the most likely cause. She is to have a five hour bath each day in a hospital tank for five days. Had her first bath last night, much to her disgust.
My vet is making up something and will collect it this afternoon. The slime coating still on her body looks white while still on her today. Last week she was a box of birds. It's happened so quickly.
The protective coating is looking white while it is on her today. I am collecting something from my vet this arvo in case it is a bacterial infection. He said if it was a fungus it would't cover so much of her body. GOsh to look at the pics of her on this post and to see her at the moment
It's very sad watching her like this. Gave pump a clean, so hopefully that will help with oxygen levels. I am beginning to think that does have something to do with it. And her age isn't helping. She has lost more coating and a wee while ago tried to swim and wasn't able to keep her balance very well.
Thank you si_sphinx I never know how to put pics on and someone else put those up for me last time. She is so beautiful. Very sad seeing her like this.
I give her stress coat every water change and last night i put a bit more in to see if it would help. Might add some more again today. Gave her a water change after I noticed this happening Saturday night.
Yes she is my clown loach. I have had her 28 years. I asked the question about water temp and also have another post going under diseases as these last couple of days she has become unwell and I wondered if it could be to do with temps. PH ammonia and nitrite are okay. She lives in a six foot tank with only one other fish.
The last couple days she has started breathing very very rapidly and wont eat, and the protective coating they have on their bodies is coming away. Have just emailed my vet to see if he has any ideas.
checked Ph ammonia and nitrite last night and all was okay. The slimey stuff I am pretty sure is the protective coating they have over their body. I have found more since. Unfortunately she is quite old, so she has her age against her. She has been blind in one eye for many many years and the other eye is looking raised and cloudyish.
Just wondering what temperature members have their tropical tanks set at now while the weather is warmer. My old girl has started to breathe rapidly and stopped eating, and I am wondering if it is to do with the temps. Thank you,
My clown loach has stopped eating and has started breathing very rapidly these last couple of days. Today I noticed some small amounts of white slimey stuff in her tank, not sure if it is something she is passsing or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This will be his forth operation. Has also had a biopsy taken from the marrow in his arm bone about six months back and last week had a biopsy taken from his liver and his lung. And he has only just turned three years old. He is a very brave little soldier.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. My young man had his left eye removed when he was nine months now he has to have his left front leg romoved. It would be good to talk to someone about it. Thanks again.
Does anybody out there know of any beardies who have had to have their entire leg amputated to the shoulder. I am hoping to talk to someone whose beardie has experienced this. Thanks
Hi I am having so much trouble getting my humidity in my viv higher. It's very low. When I check the humidity outside the viv it is alot higher than inside. I have a water bowl in his enclosure but that isnt helping. We have a moisture master in the ceiling of our house to help get rid of humidity in the house, but I cant make out why the viv is so much lower than the room he is in. Does anyone have any suggestions how to get it higher. Would having a very low humidity level cause health issues? Thanks.
experienced this or know anything about it. My little boy has been unwell for months and months and a diagnosis was finally made through a biopsy. I would appreciate any input/advice whatsoever. Nice to be back here finally. Have missed being able to contact this forum. :sage:
