  1. Thanks Shae, that's a really nice offer, and I would love to take some off your hands. PM me which days and times suit you.
  2. Hehe, thanks. I can't wait either. I know though it's going to take a good couple months to get it to where I want it.
  3. Thanks, and I agree about the firemouths.
  4. Thanks, you have given me a place to start with research.
  5. The tank is 1500L x 600H x 500W. Number of fish I have are: 6 Blackwidow's 2 Platy's (and one baby) 1 Guppy 5 neons 4 Glowlights 4 Swordtails 3 Zeb danios 8 Emerald eye rasbora 2 BN catfish 1 Albino catfish 2 Golden barbs 3 Cherry barbs
  6. The new tank is 450L. When I add my original fish to the new tank, there will be a fair ammount of room for a few bigger fish. That's why I thought gourami and or chichlids. As far as cichlid species, I'd like all recommendations so I can research the fish. Preferably a species that will tolerate a community tank.
  7. Thanks Anthony, slate looks nice too I think. With river rocks and the slate, is there a specific way of treating them before I put them into the tank?
  8. Hi there. As part of my research before setting up this new tank I have, I would like to know if I can add Gourami's, certain ciclids and other biggish fish to a community tank holding: neon & glowlight tetra's Blackwidow's Golden & cherry barbs Swordtails platy's guppies BN catfish Emerald Eye rasbora Danio's Albino catfish I will be adding a redtail shark too. Maybe some more BN catfish. All thoughts, ideas, suggestions and ramble appreciated.
  9. Thanks Blue and Anthony. Something else to think about. Now, what sort of rocks are best?
  10. good luck, I hope your pleco gets well soon.
  11. Some of the plants I have taken a fancy to are: Babytears Hairgrass Contortion and corkscrew Capuroni (Aponogeton Capuronii) Fenestralis (Aponogeton Fenestralis) Cabomba green Foxtail, red & green (Myriophyllum heterophyllum) Rotata Wallichii Echinodorus tenellus (pygmy chain sword) If anyone can suggest better or different, I'm keen to know.
  12. Oh and also, what rocks you all use and what you would recommend. Prefer flat ones so i can make caves with them.
  13. Hi. I have recently aquired a 450L tank which i plan to aquascape. I'd like to know what plants you all like from carpet plants to tall lush plants and everything in between. I will research all plants suggested to me. Also is there a recommended web site or shop that sells the more exotic plants? I would also like to know what is best to put under the gravel for the plants? I'd prefer not to use clay. If you have any other hints and suggestions for me to research please add them also. Oh and this is for a FW tropical. B

    congrats on your bubba's
  15. Well geeze Billany, your not going to make it easy for me to catch up LOL. I can almost guarantee you won't be stopping there. I can see I have my work cut out for me.
  16. Well I'm in love with aquascapes, so I plan to have a very planted tank for my community fishies. I love the look of rocks, wood, caves and plants. I'm sooo excited hehe. I get to do something real with a tank, more than i can with my little 100L. I'm also sure my fishies would love the room, and I can also add more fish now too. YAY. I will be sure to take photos of the progress I make. I'll also be hitting up members for advice and for plants etc. Have looked at all the members tanks, and there is much inspiration to be found within those photo's. As for catching up with Billany, hehe give me time, I've been bitten by the MTS bug.
  17. Just the tank. Need to aquire everything else for it now. My partner is going to build a cabinet for it.
  18. OOPS don't know if this should be here. But I'm a freshy, so I guess it fits.
  19. Woo Hoo, just won an auction for a 450L tank. $216. Yay. Now I will have two tanks. Just gotta find the running gear now. LOL. I can't wait to set it up. ROOM to move.
  20. LOL I'm too late for the latest lot. She dropped em a couple nights ago. Couldn't find any by the next morning. The trap has a divider, so the bubba's will go to the bottom part and mamma won't be able to fit through.
  21. Geeze, I don't use CO2 and I need to slow down the growth rate of my plants. Half of them are popping out the top afer two weeks. Doubled in size.
  22. Thanks guys. I bought a floating breeding trap today and put him in that. Would hate to see him minced up after I've raised him from birth LOL.
  23. Thanks Blue. I didn't know that about neons. Will keep an eye on him and if he seems to get worse I will flush him. Sorry to the sensitive fish keepers. It's the easiest solution all round. I'm not keen on putting excess crap into the tank.
  24. Thanks Tanksman. I appreciate you HO, I was feeling like it was too soon too.
