  1. Ohk thanks for that info blue. I will try get it first, then try to sort out taps etc
  2. Well i had a closer look at the bottle at work today, and it is a co2 bottle!!! The handle on top has broken off, so it cant be squeezed (set off) which means that it is probably heading for the bin anyways.... So if i scored it, what would i need to do? Take it to boc im guessing and get it certed because it looks pretty old. How would i hook up a regulator to it with the handle being broken? Any ideas?
  3. You could make your own acrylic ones? http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/diy/29016-acrylic-filter-overflows-no-lilies.html
  4. a tropical rock pool... WTF?!?!?! lol. what do you mean by that? as in a tropical tnak is the shape/theme of a rockpool? If you cant afford a chiller for a coldwater tank, dont even think about going tropical marine mate. Trust me, been there done that. budget 3K at least for a tropical marine
  5. You have been reading overseas sites huh? They are the AGA or ADA ones arent they? They are quite cool looking
  6. Just make yourself a photobucket account and put your images on there. SO easy and fast. You cant go wrong.
  7. uh, you need to upload the pic to the web and then hotlink it to here. cant do it straight outa your files on your computer....
  8. Sorry just back to the first part of the thread. Your nano crashed... What happened? did all the corals die? Have any fish in there? mollys or something? Still got the rock going etc??!?!?! Good luck with the new tank. I have my rock from my crashed tank in the garage in a holding tank ATM and im going to cook them for about 6 months or so and slowly add more and more and more rock to it and VERY slowly gain equipment and eventually start a 4 foot tank or so. No skimping this time!!

  11. Yer, good point. IMO, go with a 150W halide. Shaneo has a 14000K bulb he needs to sell (was gunna sell to me) so it would be a good deal. You should be able tp pick up a MH unit pretty cheap somewhere. Try a building recyclers or something?!?!?!
  12. Yer i understand what they probably meant, i just thought i would say that yes it is possible. Why you would ever waste time and effort to do it, Well, you probably wouldnt
  13. Ohk, i think the one i found at work was powder so it wont work. I shall try find a co2 fire extinguisher somewhere now Sounds like taking the handle off the top and putting a reg straight on would be the way to go.....
  14. Yer that is his username on TM
  15. I have never seen a food that comes with meds in it, But alot of people that treat discus etc for hex administer it in the food. Just soak the food in a solution of it and then feed it. Im not sure on exact amount or anything like that.....
  16. Makin him go back to the dark side huh?
  17. Personally, i wouldnt try skimp on lighting now aye. I would either go metal halide (shaneo has a 150W DE bulb, 14000K that he needs rid of only $30 ) Or use t8 tubes. You can get 6500K 2ft t8 tubes pretty easy and can get blue tubes aswell from somewhere.... If it was me, I would use 2 6500K tubes and 2 blue tubes over that tank.
  18. Yer, ive only ever bought 1 piece of driftwood!! The rest has come from the beach or my mates river through his property 8)
  19. Yep, the wood is perfectly safe to use. As long as its not rotting then it is sweet. These bits are mint!!
