  1. The guy at pupuke would of told you to only agitate it a little bit as he is used to plants and planted tanks, where you don't want to loose co2. In your tank, you can do it as much as you want, your fish will love you for it!! Well done, very clean looking setup!

Well the lids arent gunna cut out alot of light, and you still have HEAPS to play with, so if i was you i would raise the light to 30 ish cm, and keep the lids on

  5. Yea, i try to spell things correct, and write nicely but sometimes i just try to write too fast The new Mozilla firefox that im using does have a built in spell checker thingy like word does, so it underlines your word if you get it wrong. So handy! I dont bother reading posts that are hard to understand
  6. Barrys barrels username bazza on trademe
  7. sweet man. Um i wouldnt go neons if you are gunna keep the temp high for the discus. Cardinals can stand the high temps whereas neons just disintegrate in the higher temps. They are better suited around 24 degrees. A mate had 50 neons in with his discus and they pretty much all perished.....
  8. That is one seriously nice sized tank! Cant wait till it gets planted!!! Got any ideas on fish? Discus, apistos, corys and cardinals would be a good setup
  9. Ditto. Dont forget pics! Maybe craft supply stores or something? i dont know. Just a random suggestion ya know huh?
  10. Holy crap! how many pages are there! When do i get my broadband back!!!
  11. I have used all our broadband speed so im on dialup but i have got up to page 8 or something and have given up.... I shall read through it all properly oncebroadband re starts 8)
  12. Hmm, maybe sand with dark gravel mixed in with it?
  13. Yer propogating sand and plasterers sand are pretty much exactly the same i believe. Its the fertiliser below that costs the $$$ Last bag of plasterers sand i bought was $6
  14. Sold as tropicals? They are all kept in the coldwater tanks with goldfish around here IMO, just keep feeding them the goldfish flake. They'l be fine, but yer, make sure you give some variety like bloodworms, whiteworms etc.
  15. I havent had experience with either but my next 1200 LPH canister is going to be the Aqua one CF1200. I tossed up between the CF1200 and the jebao 304 when i got mine, but got a good deal on the jebao so went with it. IMO aqua one is a very reputable brand, Jebo aswell, but they have their faults (ie, heaters.....)
  16. I bought fertiliser mix stuff from the LFS and yes it is expensive. If i start another planted tank i will be using daltons aquatic mix with plasterers sand overtop. I use plasterers sand in my planted tank and i think its very good. Only $6 or something for a 20kg bag
  17. But mountain minnows are actually coldwater fish, not tropicals, they can just be adjusted to suit tropical
  18. The glass alone weighs 180KG!!!! wowzas!
  19. Fair enough. Sumps can be made to not deplete co2 But it is easier to canister it. What other equipment? Pres co2? lighting? Heating? Plants? fish? Sorry im being nosy, but this tank is gunna be sick!!!!!
  20. Why not just use the overflow and have a sump?!?!?! Would give even more volume!! Nice sized tank BTW! What have you got planned for equipment?
  21. Um yer it is a 3.5 kg bottle which i thought was pretty good because it would last for a while.... Could you PM me what kinda prices you have on different regulators?
