  1. Nice... Can we have an updated FTS puh-leeeeaaase??
  2. You mean where it says there are 2385 registered members.... etc down the bottom of the main screen? registered users are just people who have registered on the site, ie signed up with a username etc. It just means that 2385 people have signed up to this site..... To be part of a Club, makes you registered to the FNZAS (federation of New Zealand aquarium societys) which means you get the aquarium world and year book, plus all the other special stuff HTH.... P.S. to join the club, go to a meeting and give them your money... easy as that. you could even go to one meeting and see if you like it, and if you do then go back to the next one, and pay then.
  3. mmm very true i know.... So you reckon that putting 6 FM's and 2 Uarus into a 4 footer is asking for trouble?? 4 FM's better? or you reckon just stick to 2??? If i had 2 FM's and 2 uarus, could i have a school of rainbows aswell as a cleanup crew???
  4. Buy one off trademe. something like $50 for a master kit usually
  5. Ya reckon? I already have 6 FM's and the uarus, only small fellows ATM.... And those Uarus of yours look awesome, but i already have 2!!! lol
  6. Ohk, so ive decided to break down my planted tank (250L) and make it a firemouth and uaru tank (dont ask why).... Because of the Uarus it wont have plants, but will have lots of driftwood, rocks etc instead. Just a couple questions on what people think... 6 firemouths, 2 uarus and some Big BN's in a 250L tank sound good? (1200 * 400 * 500, L*W*H, 1200LPH external filter) Do you reckon theres room for more fish? i wouldnt mind a syno or two, and/or some rainbowfish.... Alright? nay? yay? Thanks
  7. Lol, nah im older by a little bit (8 months, turn 17 on friday :bounce: )
  8. You should always suck on the outlet pipe to start a syphon into the canister before you start it. The motor cant start the syphon itself.... You need to fill up the whole canister and the pipes before turning it on, then shake the filter to get rid of the extra air caught in the filter.....
  9. ummmm, about a year and a half ish i think
  10. Er, i think you mean the Jebao 304, if so, they are a good canister filter. Mines been running perfect ever since i got it ages ago. *touchwood* They are the cheap budget alternative, but IMO are awesome!
  11. Ive always thought red pine was R. Wallichii???
  12. That first pic looks nothing like R. Wallichii..... Wallichii has much finer leaves To me, the first pic looks like rotundifolia, the second, roundifolia
  13. ahhhh, right. yes, very true. I dont know anything about bichers so....
  14. Oh, i thought they got to 10 ish cm, but i could possibly be wrong. wait and see what the experts say....
  15. As i said in the other thread. King killies are stunning fish, and get to 10ish cms. Not available ALOT but they are out there. there were some on trademe last week; a guy in tauranga, he ships though. EDIT: here ya go http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 361341.htm
  16. Males are darker usually, and fight all the time together  Females are bigger and more pale. Sounds like it must have been eggbound then, cos they are always fat ready to breed, and the 2 males are always fighting..... Thanks guys and girls
  17. About two hours ago i looked at my fish and saw one of my female pencils was extremely fat. I immediatly thought dropsy, so had a good look at her but no scales were sticking out at all, and she had no other signs of dropsy realy, so i just left her. She has always been fat with eggs, so i thought she could be REALY getting ready :-? I just found her dead..... I took a pic of her in the net after taking her out. Im not sure exactly what it is. Someone fairly experienced who i showed the pic too thought bloat of some sort... anyone else agree? Anyway, heres the pic. I made it a link just incase someone doesnt like it. Click the link at your own will.... its nothing bad, just a dead fish NOTE: the fish is upside down in the pic http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3/ev ... 4Small.jpg
  18. Dude, if you want to you could buy rock which is already cycled, meaning you dont need to go through the whole cooking process. The advantage of getting live rock is you dont have to wait, and you can get some cool added extras, possibly some free corals which have hitchhiked!
  19. Post Removed. Evil.. take this as a warning. If you are out to cause problems, then your antics will not be tollerated here. Bill Mod. Well im sorry bill, but i am not out to cause problems, and i dont see where my post broke the rules. I have sent you a PM. Please put my post back how it was
