Today the Western bay aquarium and pond society had a club outing to rotorua to see wonderworld aquarium and pet centre. 7 of us left Te Puke at 10:30 and travelled to wonderworld in sharron and pauls big vehicle. After spending about an hour looking around wonderworld and then finally buying our goodies, we went and bought a few $$ hot chips and we went to the lake to sit down and have lunch.... We decided to have it in the middle of the roundabout  The tourists took photos and waved at us Twas' a good day

  5. im also keen to know how a cycle can be done so fast, and the process in which things need to be done. Seems like alot of chemicals and stuff to be putting into a tank 2-4 hours before the fish... But, im not going to say its impossible, as it obviously works for you.... Nice tank BTW. I dont like goldfish, and i prefer my tanks differently, but it doesnt matter, you like it, and it does look quite nice. Everyone has their own tastes eh? Well done, and good on you for saving the poor goldies

  10. If you think you can do it, then do it and test it outside FIRST. be prepared to loose the whole thing if it explodes apart too :-? Otherwise, yea, take it to someone who knows what they are doing, all ready to go, and it wont cost you too much, and you will get a good job done on it....
  11. Far, id show up just for the stone throwing

  13. Too late sharn, ive already been in touch
  14. thats a good point, but is it worth the hassle? just dip all new arrivals into a potassium permanganate dip, or bleach if necessary
  15. the key to nice healthy plants is not only light, they need co2 and nutrients aswell. usualy you get co2 from fish waste, and nutrients from fish waste, and water changes, and dosing something like flourish, although if you are serious with plants you can get co2 injection and better, more specific ferts....
  16. what lighting you got over that tank mystic? co2? ferts? substrate? looks pretty nice
  17. so the common name for these is american flagfish?? is that right or am i totaly wrong  Animal antics in the mount almost always have them when i go there. i dont take much notice in sexes or anything but will definately have a closer look when im there next
  18. Wiring could be dodgy if it was DIY, maybe just go through and check all connections and stuff first, then if its still not working replace/repair the ballast
  19. I always just chuck new stems straight into the substrate. they will eventually grow roots
