  1. Thats one of the only things my lotus' haven't done yet!
  2. snapped a few quick pics (sorry some of them are blurry) of some of my plants. some are too hard to get a good photograph off because of their position Anyway, Java Fern Java Fern Windelov Narrow Leaf Java Fern Java moss (not very clear) Congo Fern Green tiger lotus (only a very small one) Red tiger lotus (also fairly small and lacking colour because its been travelling to me for the last 3 days ) Stargrass Ambulia Hygrophillia Polysperma Rotala Macranda - Not healthy ATM, should be a rich red Hairgrass  Ill try to get some better pics tomorrow, and get pics of my other plants
  3. Id 99% say thats its Cammalanus. An intestinal worm which needs to be treated with Levamisole. Go to your local vet and ask if they have any Aviverm, as it is levamisole mainly. If its the 22% levamisole one then use 1ml per 24Ls (IIRC) You first need to do a 90% water change, making sure that you gravel syphon hard out, and get as much of the crap out from the bottom, as that is where the baby worms live. Then fill the tank up and treat withe the correct amount. better to overdose than underdose. Levamisole will not harm your fish but it will give them the runs... no big deal. Leave them for 48 hours (you can stop after 24 hours if the fish dont react very well to the meds) and after that time do another 90% water change, once again making sure to vacuum the substrate very well. Repeat the treatment 2 weeks later. This should get rid of them. Do not try to pull them out of the fish, and do not think it will go away by itself. I got all my info from Sharn, as she wrote an article in the aquarium world a little way back. Good luck!
  4. Good idea. Ill go snap some pics of my plants soon
  5. Take water out of the other tank (the one you are cycling the filter in) and dump it into the cube, then chuck the filter in, and you pretty much have a fully cycled tank....
  6. Zevs stargrass is the Shizzle!
  7. Oh, i was thinking 21cm cube. nah yea, id say it would be sweet, but thats just me
  8. Put it this way.... I had a pair of kribensis in a 200 x 300 x 300 tank (lxwxh) and they were breeding. Up to you, but if it was me, id probably put a pair of rams in there, but not much else....
  9. Filtration yes, lighting.... i dunno
  10. I think they will be fine with a cube every two days, but if you are a bit worried maybe try missing one or two days a week feeding of the entire tank, and see what happens? they will be fine for one day, and will even go up to 10 days or so before they start to really suffer, so don't think you are starving them by missing a meal or two
  11. When you feed the bloodworm, do you wash it off first? I say that because the 'juice' itself is high in phosphates, and excess phosphates will cause algae. I put my cubes of bloodworm into one of my fish nets (the finest one) and run them under the tap until they are defrosted and all the juice is gone. Oh, and id say that you could be feeding a little bit too much. Id cut the bloodworm blocks back to one every 2 or 3 days. Your fish will be creating alot of waste by eating bloodworm everyday, along with other foods. I dont feed my fish every night. some of them i do, like the ones im breeding/trying to breed/getting ready to breed/or fry, but my usual old display fish only get fed 4 or 5 times a week.
  12. Well it starts as a bacteria bloom, and then the algae grows because of excess nutrients and it turns into an algae bloom
  13. It will be a bacteria bloom. your water will probably go green next :-? Got a tank that is just about over it. Ive had it heaps on the past and i've just sat it out, but this time i got sick of it real quick so ive been doing 90% water changes most days and its pretty much gone. Either sit it out, or do HUGE (and i mean huge... no point doing 50% ones as the highly oxygenated water that you put in aparently feeds the algae bloom and makes things worse, so do 70% plus) or just sit it out... can take a while....
  14. I'm attracted to heaps of different things, maybe thats why i have so many tanks, and am always changing my mind I like schools, planted tanks, marine tanks and their diversity, personality's, colour, behavior etc etc etc. I also think that a nice display tank is quite relaxing
  15. That is alot of eggs! caves look good mate, well done!
  16. Um dont know exactly but its like 8 x 2 x 2 or something close to it i guess
  17. Ill try send the vibes your way then huh?
  18. Um, not too sure aye. couple months i guess..... Thats if they stay alive!
  19. You can take as many as you want  But seriously, yea sure man. im sure ill advertise them on here once i wanna get rid of them anyway. Wont be asking much (if anything)
  20. Stupid Kribensis mumble mumble mumble Yes all those little blobs are krib fry. literally hundreds.....
  21. Ahk, sorry for my mistake. Now i think about it, it may have been the mce300 that was around 5 hundy.....
  22. Hey Just wondering if two Uaru would fit into a 1000L tank which already contains a biggish clown knife, some jewels (i think), some Convicts, an Oscar and a couple big plecos. Reckon they would get on in there or not?
  23. ohk, i wasnt too sure, but i thought they were around $550-$600. Obviously not
  24. $750 is a bit steep isnt it? You can buy them for around $500 i thought?
