  1. make up some sort of warm box type thing, maybe with a spare heat pad or ceramic heat emitter. my big male escaped a couple of times and found him under my heated mealworm breeding rack..
  2. do they reproduce as fast and as much as normal ones?
  3. Here is a pic of a couple of my leo babies, notice the colour difference the brighter yellow one is the younger sibling, from same parents.. obvious which one is called stumpy.. one of its siblings thought its tail looked like a nice wrigley worm..
  4. anyone have a problem with them and what can you do to stop them from infesting a colony?. just noticed one of my colonies is seething with them...

  11. just a quick couple of questions, does it effect water parameters much like ph? and can it harm some fish species?
  12. so what would be a good way to keep the ph around 6.0 and the water clear?
  13. you know how when u have driftwood in the tank and the water goes brown, using activated carbon removes the colour but will it also reduce the acidity of the water? i ask becuse i want to keep it kinda acidic for my rams.

    what type of plant can be used to grow a nice mat on the bottom of the tank, like when you see those cool aquascaping photos on the net and its all nice and green...
  17. how did you catch it?, obviously not a spear ... and a net would probably hurt it...
  18. here is a photo of the male, its not the best photo... couldnt get one of the female. they are doing really well, i had heard that they will sometimes stop feeding etc when they have been moved etc but they have already eaten lots of flake food, live daphnia and mosqueto lavae.
  19. well my german blue rams arrived from Hollywood's today! hopefully i can fatten em up and get them breeding!!
  20. na i have a few tanks, and am going to set up some more soon... but the 3ft is my breeding tank.
  21. yea i guess there is a few of them around, think i might try albino angels.. if i can get a pair...

  23. hmmm... blue rams could be good! do you know how much they are and if there was any that had pared off? saw some albino angels in my lfs, they could be interesting also... they were only young tho.
  24. thinking about angels... anyone around rotorua have a breeding pair that they may want to pass on?...
