    my new nano

wel im building a new nano... the tank is about 30L ish, iv had exactly the same tank set up for a lil while but not with much in it as i have always thought about improving it and wel i had anothr tank sitting around so thought i would do something with it, this tank is going to use a undergound filter with just under 1/3 of the tank acting as the filter crushed shell as bottom layer and coral sand on top, it is what is in my other tank and works fine. the improvements that i will make on this tank are that i am going to run pumps and heater inside a peice of pvc pipe that will run up the center of the tank so everything is hidden and will have a 360 degree view of tank, i will cover the pvc in live rock to create a sort of pillar in the center, the light tht comes with the tank is a 6w fluro but i am upgraing that to a 18w marine light and am going to make a wood base to hide underground filter and material on bottom. any coments or ideas would be greatly appreciated. i will post pics soon.
  5. my dad used to have a 6foot nz reef tank with a octopus about 20years ago, but now he has one of my old tanks (about a 60lr) with a leatherjacket, spotie sum small goby kinda thngs shrimp and anemone's kinda cool, the leatherjacket is cool it flashes different colours when its begging for food (espesially if there is food on the table and it can c it).

  8. i have a tank thats just like yours but larger but must b made by the same company, its proly just under 20L it came with a fluro (im lookind at installing beta lighting) and insted of using the crappy filter at the top i made a undergravel filter for it and used the pump to suck the water thru the filter, this has worked very well for me and have a humbug in there and a coupple of mushroom and another random coral and there all doing fine, tank only cost me $80.
  9. i used 2 have 3 in a tank and they feed happily on frozen brine shrimp but the problem that i had was tha my tank was so large and seahorses are lazy so i hd to put in alot of food for them 2 b able eat wot flated past there mouth, so my experence tels me that wot would be best would b a smallish tank with heaps!! of filteration (for frozen foods), but if you could hatch your own brine shrimp which would last a little while swiming around in your tank giving your seahorses a chance to eat them before they fal to the bttum and start rotting like frozen ones. ell thats wot i think anyway hope it helps.
  10. cool, i might use some of that for topups suldnt b too pricey for me considering my tank is only 20L

  12. my male ct used 2 blow huge bubble nests so i got him a few females but every time i put 1 in with him he just chases her away, she will go up to him sideon and bar up but then he wil chase her away thengo sit under the nest and every time she comes up he wil chase her away again and in the process he destroys his bubble nest, and now his nests look like hes just fartes a coupple of times under the cup. can sum1 please help me?
