Thats right there is someone selling nice blue rams in auckland on trademe Awesome! I was hoping they would ship. Im sure you will do well with them
  3. Is there another tank underneath this tank? That gear looks like what is needed to setup a sump.. Or you got a heap of power heads but looks like you have return piping from a sump (white stuff)..

Yep sounds good Unsure how well the kribs and rams will get along but im sure they will be fine in that sized tank.. Also regarding the rams it is very likely they will all die on you unless you find some quality home bred ones around the place.. You could also try some schooling fish like cardinals or rummy noses
  5. Yeah ive seen them and alot of other rare fish sell on trademe, lol someone paid $120 for 4 hybrid zebras that were very rare.. start here http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/s ... php?id=105 The seller did give you the sc name well kinda "Vieja synspilum" is what it is.. google that and all sorts will pop up, think they're typical sth americans get real big agro etc How big is your tank?
  6. I think thats just a common name try and get a scientific name if you can all the info will be under that.. Had someone else come over and say they were looking at some and they were super rare the other day lol
  7. Do you know what supplier and how much they would retail for I might get some
  8. Yeah think it depends on the fish Have heard of angels being called neon eaters or not..
  9. I just noticed that noone has replied to this post, have you tried searching the web for answers to your questions? I think Geo's are relatively straight forward to breed, as for differences in sexes I think its just standard stuff for these guys pointed anal and dorsal fins and more colourful for males and rounded fins and less colour for females..
  10. now now rogan don't start that again remember what happened last time! I don't think you would need a tank all that big for 50 dem's I had 40 africans in a 260L tank with a heap of filters in it for a few months and some of them were 15cm+ nothing managed to breed but they lived Dems are smaller so would do better Anyway earthquakes suck!
  11. felt it here too A message popped up from someone my wife was talking too in palmy (half an hour away) saying there was an earthquake, I had enough time to read it and think hmm if theres an earthquake in palmy shouldn't there be one here.. And it hit pretty big here shouldn't have my tank filled too close to the unused overflow... And I may have been contacted by someone asking if it was possible to supply 50 dem's...
  12. lol thats what I did last time there was a count.. tonight I cant be bothered and the laptops hard work to use the mouse that much.. All ill say is theres lots! Congrats!
  13. Yep if they turn out small your taking them too small (low res) or resizing them too much..
  14. Flick them to my email if you want ill post them.
  15. Go dems They're wicked! And I have 2 discus in a 120L tank atm but its only half full have treated them with metro just in case, and I only do weekly water changes on them with cold water straight from the tap.. They're sweet so far
  16. lol I got a daughter and im 25 so not too young to be having babies
  17. You said they were a bit young to be getting some didn't you?
  18. It depends when the seller wants to sell them, I have brought fish straight from their mothers mouths before taken them home and tumbled them and had no problems thats the size I got my colony of demasoni at. Africans are hardy as Also would be harder for me to get some of these assuming johannes sells them eventually because they're in Auckland and they wont ship. But im sure ill find some somewhere I have some jacob's anyway just not this strain.
  19. I haven't kept these peacocks I wouldn't mind some though lol All peacocks are the same generally very easy to look after feed etc
  20. Decapsulated are the best from what I have read, yes the hatched ones can be as good and fish will go for something thats moving alot better but if you don't feed them when they are newly hatched and still have their attached egg sack they don't have as much goodness as decapsulated unhatched ones.. Thats just what I can gather about them plus the decapsulated ones are less work which is good in my books
  21. They will in time don't you worry about that
  22. Most likely the breeding guppies would get eaten, a large female might survive, a friend of mine did the same thing and ended up with a very fat happy angel!
  23. If you can get them to eat peas then have heard that works and for some reason im thinking Epsom salt but can neither confirm or deny that one..
  24. Yeah if the parents will look after them I think you get better survival rates I think its because the parents can actually look after the eggs better than an airstone and meth blue. For some reason I think that white spot cure is Melachite Green and meth blue? That is just a random thought I don't know where it came from.. You could try just having a clean tank and putting in complete darkness?
