  1. It is what happened to most of my blue/gold rams before they died, I have no idea what it is
  2. Your probably already pretty high on stocking for that tank already, what are the dimensions? The ice blues will be your problem I had major aggression issues with them even in much bigger tanks the males can get quite big and throw their weight around.. They shouldn't create too many issues with your mbuna though and you have a good number of them to spread aggression. In terms of compatibility you could add a group of either lelu or jullies, only issue you may encounter is they don't seem to get much food when kept with mbuna so tend to not grow or do very well.
  3. How big is the tank and what numbers of fish do you already have?
  4. It should be the 13th which is the second tues of the month . Must be a mistake in the email glad someone reads them!
  5. You can come at 415 if you want mate . But we will be there from 730..
  6. Green bay community centre 1 Barron drive in green bay
  7. Just a reminder that the Agm is still happening on the 13th March, hope to see all current members there and any new members are always welcome If anyone has anything they want added to the agenda, wants to stand for a position within the club or has any suggestions on what they want the club to do please let us know even if you can't make it on the night it can be discussed.
  8. It could happen but I would say it is unlikely.. Even if it did happen it would be interesting to see if they produced live young etc so I would leave them together
  9. Lube all the o rings with some silicone grease or vas and see what happens.. This includes the O rings on the tap connections etc, they can have a small leak which lets air in but doesn't let water out (as confusing as it sounds).
  10. Bottom one is a red top lwanda Nice pics and fish too! :nfs:
  11. Do you keep tropheus? I would agree with the others above, good food, good water conditions and patience.. Good filtration/aeration seem to be helpful as well, when they are ready they will breed
  12. lol you do And I have 2 females that I got off you.. And yeah I like the albinos too Well actually I like all of them..

    Fx5 Noise

+1 I dropped and broke one too My one was making noises but I took it apart and found the impeller had been out in wrong, and the small pieces of pumice i was using for biomedia had worked their way through the trays and got stuck in the impeller.
  14. :nfs: I didn't think I would ever see peacocks of this quality in NZ! Good work.. I look forward to updated pics as they mature and look even better!
  15. Tank looks great Fish look like they have settled in well and started growing too. Well done, looking forward to more updates
  16. Lol hopefully someone else shows up soon myself and diver sitting here together on valentines day is getting us some weird looks..
  17. I have heard of people having albinos thrown in batches of fry but have never seen or heard of anyone raising them and breeding for them..
  18. Yes hundreds if not thousands still around...
  19. Looking good Was very impressed with how nice this looked when I dropped the fish off, looking forward to further updates as the fish grow, glad you like them!
  20. Had a look in the konnings book last night can't seem to find any johannii that have heavy vertical barring from photos taken of fish collected in the lake. What reputable sites have you seen pics with heavily vertically barred johannii? All the ones that I bred from my good stock (and photos of good fry on the net) have only had horizontal barring. TBH I wouldn't stick those barred ones with your good male because you really have no idea what the random barred ones are (apart from what is commonly sold as johannii in NZ), if you did want to breed them then keep them in their own group. Here are some pics of my old johannii for comparison, one of male/female and one of one in a mixed tank.. I would love to get some of this line back if any of the people I sold them too still have any! Phil Collis had the same line too but it appears all of his are gone too.. Just to clarify I am not saying your fish are 100% not johannii I am just saying I don't think they look right from what I have seen and research I have done..
  21. 300W is still 300W of heating, I just wonder if the jager heats more efficiently because it has a longer heater element?

Bottom fish is a hap And looks like a C. azureus.
  24. If you don't know what they are or where they came from then you will never know there are so many hybrid peacocks out there. The guy could have got the male from somewhere and the females from somewhere else, people regularly buy a male "peacock" and then buy random females from stores match them and breed them so it is almost impossible to know. I can tell you they are not jacob females as well, they are one of the few peacock females you can have a rough guess at, although I wouldn't be confident on 100% iding any female peacock.
