  1. there has been lots of talk recently about links, and how you aren't allowed to link to another forum, but the mods haven't removed it so I guess it isn't that bad! have you had any luch with the search for Peacock Gudgeon? I'd give some of the big shops a call (in auckland and chch) and ask them if they have ever had them in, that'll give you an idea at least...
  2. Thanks for the pics, always good to see someones fronts (hint hint guys!!)
  3. I've never seen them here... But if I were you I'd take off the link and just post a pic of it from a google search, you could get in trouble for that link!! :-? (just a heads up)
  4. Thanks cichfanatic Nice to see they are getting some coverage!
  5. Very sad to hear I only got to know Alan in Napier at conference, amazing guy, he seemed to be a total trouble maker but you couldn't help but laugh when he was about!!! Condolences to Rose and family
  6. Yep it is! How do you know her? She's amazing, love her to bits! I told her a million times she should write a letter to Peter Jackson asking for funding for the monkey enclosures (as I'm sure you know things like that aren't cheap!) as he might be interested in using them in a movie or two at some point, she wrote it but never sent it!! They monkeys are pretty cool, I like the capuchin the most, he seems to enjoy licking my leg and making a cute noise at the same time!! So no one on here has any themselves that they are breeding?! Or knows of anyone who has??! (tortoises that is and not capuchins!)
  7. I've got a friend down the road who is now classed as a zoo - she's got an animal sanctuary and was given some monkeys from the circus, but to be allowed to keep them she had to be classed as a zoo.. so I don't think the process of becoming one is THAT bad...
  8. I want to get some of these: Neolamprolougs brevis
  9. Yeah its pretty much natural glass so it won't change the water, but couldn't the fish hurt themselves on its sharp edges??!
  10. Yeah, it is always fun having a fish that's easy to breed. The best way to keep the population down it to also have a fish which eats them!! Bichirs are good for that!
  11. But they are still catching far more from the wild than they are breeding, cause its still WAY cheaper to catch them than it is to breed them...
  12. Its on the IUCN list now - not as good of course but better than nothing! http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/item.php?news=1376

  16. They've got about 6 and they are wee ones - not sure what species and they aren't on the zoo's website either... I'll find out though!
  17. Can't get any cause there are only about 2 in the country?!!! Welly zoo only got their recently I think - does that mean they are being imported again?
  18. Hey guy's, Does anyone know of any species being bred in nz? There are some a welly zoo now, and there was that one in aucks recently - what is available here?
