Who has the largest pleco?

Featured Replies

Pet shop in Whangarei used to have two huge "commons" in a big (well it was big to me back then, about 2 metres long IIRC) display tank that would have been getting close to 50cm each, maybe more. The tank was at least 60x60cm and these guys weren't much shorter than the width of the tank. And like you said, they could poo like nothing else!

i tried to purchase a lyre tail polka dot pleco when i was huntng around, and a titanic pleco, no luck, no one wants to sell.

rare indeed

Hystrix would have been a total fluke. It was being sold as a common pleco but no one bought it.

No pics; I would hardly go around with a camera :slfg: They'd think I'm a freak! :tears:

And you didnt buy it? Disappointed in you P44 :-?

We used to have a red spot pleco who was about 32cm long. It got too big for our tank and we had to rehome it - broke my heart as it was a cool fish. We took him to wet pets in PN so they could find him a new home. Tank has never been so clean without all the strings of poo everywhere now though.
