Caryl
At 11.45 this morning our big pond was still iced over. Thin, but iced
Wok
So did Grant get the remote controlled IceBreaker out to break up the ice sheet?
Ira
At 11:45am yesterday there were still 4" thick piles of hail in my garden.
Wok
Ira... you should stop raking the hail stones into a pile then. they don't melt as fast if they are in a pile than if you left them alone
Caryl
I have just noticed, at 4.45pm that there is still ice on a good section of the pond surface! Lovely sunny day though cold. Wok: Grant was going to put his little remote controlled boat on top of the ice then say how he should have got an ice breaker instead  Ira: Be grateful the only piles you have are ones of hail

fishboi
cool that's a lot thicker than i imagined when u said thin. does that mean the pond is up and running? last time i heard its still has leaking problem.
Caryl
The pond is full - but the level is lower than we would like. We are waiting for the landscapers to install a ballcock under the deck. No hurry though as fish are semi hibernating anyway so we don't want to transfer them to the big pond until it is warmer. Pond has just water in it at the moment.
Devon
What sort of fish are they> stupid question but you know. Is there any other fish in nz that could handle that apart from goldfish???? I rember When i was like 5 Which wasnt long ago. We had a pond/bath outside wth some gold fish so we thought any way cus we couldnt see the bottom of it.... Any way.... One year it was frezzing and got about 2inch of ice in the bath. We Were moving so we tiped it over And out came a big fat gold fish. For years that pond was outside. Wok
with the way that the IWC was voting earlier this week. I don't think it is wise for me to go too close to water  Trust Jude to suggest throwing me into the deepend first
