jager heater help plz urgent thanks

Got my new jager heater set it to 25

Now its been on 16 hours and them it up to28 . And it hasnt turned off

Tank is 90 liter and heater 100 watts. Room around 20 degrees

With fire at night

Have I got ANOTHER dud try thanks

Did they calibrate it for you? Rarely can you set the temp of a Jager to say 26 and expect it to stay at that. You have to have a thermometer to set it against.

No it was faulty and stuck on. Even set to 18 it wouldn't turn off tank went to over 30 my poor fish

Will it affect them in the long run

What you do is lift the button, then place the heater in water of a known temperature, leave it long enough to get to that temperature, set the dial to that temperature then push the button down. It is then calibrated and should give you the temperature you set it at, taking into account the hysterersis which is probably about one degree each side of what it is set for.

thanks as i put before they said it was faulty. I havent touched the other one just put it on 25 and its going on and off fine

Will post tomorrow what the temp is then cheers

Happy that I have a decent brand and wont have to worry
