samuel90
This stuff is slimy, breaks apart in my hands, even comes out my filter (aquaone1200- that I filled with almost-mature media) Water has been in tank about 4 days. 27 C degrees. The filter is blowing it all around my tank, and its getting caught on my plants. looks like a silky white ribbon? What is this? Is it safe? How do I get rid of it? hovmoller
It is some kind of bacteria or fungus that is having a good time because your system is not that stable yet. It is safe and will disappear by itself.. no need to remove. I know it looks ugly but just be patient.
Ira
Yup, just some little sheet of bacteria or fungus. It's pretty normal, don't worry about it.

DoubleDutch
What you're describing sounds to me as a bacterial growth, that isn't dangerious at all and will go after some time. Can't see much at the pic though so I could be wrong.
