Just wanting to know if anyone knows of where you can get a background that is: Blue on side, Black the other, And at least 700mm wide. rockgurl89 Posted February 20, 2013 Report Share Posted February 20, 2013 You can go to a signwriters and ask for the vinyl to apply direct to the tank (so it would be one colour applied to the tank and the next colour applied over the previous) to give you your two colours. ilwis Posted February 26, 2013 Report Share Posted February 26, 2013 just don't paint it in the tank just paint the outside because you can see through the glass unless its heavily tinted then i guess you wouldn't need to paint it anyway also unless you paint too thinly you wont see brush strokes anyway because the glass surface will give it a smooth appearance anyway (kinda like pressing your hand against the window) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sophia Posted February 27, 2013 Report Share Posted February 27, 2013 We painted one tank with a brush and it took 2 thick-ish coats to remove the brush marks, you couldn't see them at all after that. After that we used a light roller and needed much less paint but still had to use about 4 coats to get it all nice and evenly covered. It took about the same amount of time to dry as 2 thicks coats with the brush. I know this because I was watching paint dry. :sml2: Paint used was interior acrylic - Dulux selwyn blue shade.
