Godly3vil
Southlands pretty big mate, where specifically are you coming to?
Scarletmonuka
as godly3vil said its a pretty big place but if you're after lakes you can head te anua way. with lake te anua right on the boarder of fiorland national park there is plenty to do there.. also in that area is lake manipori, and the marvora lakes. (sorry my spelling is crap). but if you can get a really nice day i would suggest heading the opposite direction and getting out to the catlins. absoulutely stunning. Caryl
Hard to say until you narrow it down a bit. Only 2 weeks does not give you enough time to see much but, for a start, there's... Manapouri Power Station tour. We have done this and it is really interesting, even if it doesn't sound like it :sml2: . Not for the claustrophobic as you go 2km underground. https://www.realjourneys.co.nz/en/exper ... r-station/ Fiordland National Park Day Walks http://www.doc.govt.nz/documents/parks- ... -walks.pdf Milford Sound Discovery Centre. Has a floating Underwater Observatory. Brilliant! See rare black coral and all sorts of stuff. http://www.southerndiscoveries.co.nz/mi ... bservatory Albatross Colony – Dunedin. Also has a gun battery. Very interesting. Don't shoot the lighthouse! http://www.albatross.org.nz/ Visit Stewart Island – lots of walks, including the Rakiura Track. Fly or ferry over. alanmin4304
Jim is not joking. I stayed in the camping ground on Stewart Island and nearly froze to death in February. The whole locaton is well worth a visit as it has a lot more of interest than a couple of bumps on the horizon that you will be used to. Better start getting used to speights now. Caryl
Hmm, I don't think there is much to see in the albatross colony at that time of year Better check!
