camtang
My one just decided to stop :dunno: pulled it apart as much as I could washed it out 1 small stone came out of it but i think it was one that was caught in the outer cage when I pulled it out of the tank. put it back together and still no go. Any ideas? Id rather not buy a new one if it can be avoided

camtang
so from what i am reading, are we possibly thinking that some part of the magnet system has gone belly up on mine?
livingart
which is your forte indeed it is almost my fifte yes a distinct possibility on the belly up
F15hguy
if the motor is stuffed the electromagnet that spins the impeller will not be working. if the impeller is stuffed then its easy fix. just replace the impeller btw I know it sounds silly but check that your RCD hasn't tripped, that has to be the most common cause of pump problems I have to deal with
camtang
what is a RCD?
calculator
Reisdual current device. It makes sure that the device isnt leaching power to an earth, so It looks for breaks in the insulation.
camtang
I see, and how do I find this RCD on my unit?
Barnacle
Its Either built in your wall socket, with a Test and Reset button, or its an extra orange thing where you have your stuff plugged into... with the same 2 buttons. Or its built into your fuse box in the house. Easy to spot as it probably has a switch as well as a Test Button.
camtang
if the RCD had flipped would that mean that the rest of the stuff plugged into that socket would of failed? everything else is working from that socket, and I tryed the water mover in a diffrent plug in my vain attempt of being handy many
calculator
In that case it probably isnt the RCD, it might be that you havnt put it together completely properly and that is jamming it from moving, other then that you might have to resign to the fact that it is broken. F15hguy
also check your impeller shaft isn't broken

livingart
also check your impeller shaft isn't broken yes sometimes shaft just spins inside the magnet without driving if body magnet is working you will feel a small vibration when turned on
