Moss from backyard into aquarium? with pictures

I have beed looking around in pet shops for java moss and unfortunately they don't have any. I have noticed this moss growing everywhere in my backyard a while ago but have remained a bit skeptical that it could go in the tank. I picked a few bunches and have left them in some water overnight. Can these go inside an aquarium and be safe? I can guarantee that no fertilizers/weed killers etc have been near it.

Some mosses will do ok, if they come from a very wet environment. I think that they will do better in a cold water aquarium though.

I have had some success with an umbrella moss that was completely submerged when found, and another moss (common garden type) that was growing in a very wet area. This second one is 1/2 submerged 1/2 emerged, the top 1/2 is doing much better than the 1/2 in the water.
