SamH
Tank looks about the same as last time, minus the chain sword. The plan is not to trim it on Sunday and see how wild it gets, should be interesting. Sorry about the over exposed Rotala, just a quick shot. F15hguy
looks heaps more refined wit the hair grass and less chain sword. keep up the good work.
SamH
Thanks! I think so too. Should be good when the hairgrass fills in, I'll need a school of ottos to keep it clean though :nilly: Next task; master the tank photography
SamH
Week 7 "Explosion" Here's the result of me keeping my hands out of the tank for a week, a bit of an explosion of growth. No more growth than I'd normally get but just haven't trimmed any plants. As you can see the growth is lanky, does anyone know why this is? Also, the brown diatoms are almost gone but staghorn is taking it's place :nilly:
Sophia
doesn't look lanky, looks natural
SamH
Notice the Ambulia near surface on the right, it's stretching like mad :nilly:

F15hguy
im not an expert but have noticed my ambulia was lanky like that for a bit, then I dosed with flourish iron and it went bushy (and mental about 2cm per day growth) also made my rotala a redder colour. SamH
Not that anyone's following but I've been a bit slack over the past two weeks due to work etc. Here's a photo from Sun 25th November. Since then, the CO2 regulator stopped working (simply won't turn on) so as I wait patiently for the replacement, I've cut the photoperiod down to 4hrs, got a fair bit of algae but nothing I couldn't easily remove. Plant growth has slowed but it's all still really healthy. Taken Monday 3rd December.

SamH
Getting a much slower but higher quality of growth without CO2, it's very interesting. This tank is due for a total rescape in the new year, just depends on time and money really.

SamH
Skipped a weekly update, this tank is due for a total overhaul after I get back from the beach (late Jan)
Godly3vil
Looks wild Sam, shame the glosso didn't carpet out.
SamH
Yeah the foreground substrate was too shallow and the lights are mostly focused on the back half of the tank. I'm considering getting rid of the tank (only) completely and going custom :nilly:
