If not, I would be getting a new one. Just a thought, I mean if the heater isn't working properly you wouldn't want it come on and NOT turn off perphaps cooking your fish in the process. Take care, Caper :oops: Yeah i generally run two heaters in my tanks just for security purposes. In this tank i have one jager 300w and a 200w jager but will be soon changing my 200w to another 300w. They are working fine the temperature is steady. Yeah haha didn't think of that. to fix that i could just get two external thermostats. But then again i could have the same problem as i do now. Jellymeat Posted August 5, 2012 Author Report Share Posted August 5, 2012 Just thought i would put an update of my tank. It has now been set up for 2 months now. I have only added 10 diamond tetras into the tank, But i am planning to increase my school of cardinals and add between 30 to 50 rummy nose tetras in the next few months. I have been a bit slack and still haven't got the doors on as i have to do a bit of work on the stand as the hinges are too long and i still haven't go the co2 set up. Its been hard to find time since the Mrs has stopped working Saturdays and expects me to spend all my time with her :facepalm: I am hoping that i can get some done this weekend. I changed my heaters in the sump and seems to keep the tank at a better temperature and fingers crossed that the power bill drops. I have the same issue - my husband has stopped working evenings and doesn't work nearly as long on a Saturday. I still haven't even put the doors on my stand only been a year or so. I have upgraded my lighting to three hagen glo 54w t5 light fittings. So here are some photos after i got rid of alot of moss and plants. Now i need to get some nice back ground plants. Any suggestions? Something with good size leaves and is tall. I am thinking of doing an overhaul on my tank, by replacing the grit in my tank to 3-6mm river pebbles (Brightwater). and also adding in 4 bags of seachem flourite. So my question is what substrate do you guys have in your planted tanks? And you views on flourite? And the price of flourite is not a factor for me as i work in a pet shop. And selling off half of my fish most of which already have new homes. The plan is for my planted 2.0 tank: 4 bags of fluorite black sand 3-6mm brightwater pebbles Eheim profesional 3 2080. Amazing!!! Espically when it was $350 with only 5 months use :happy1: Cutting out the overflow and removing the sump Finally making a canopy Only taken about a year haha Thinking about making an inline co2 reactor anyone have any ideas? Stocking: 8 discus 7 sterbai - Thinking about getting 13 more. Anyone breeding these guys? 2 Panda whiptails 3 Bolivian butterfly rams 5 Apistogramma trifasciata A big school of rummy noses I lost 3 discus and a green and blue phantom and a flying fox due to lack of oxygen a couple weeks ago.
