karynjoy
I just bought a tank off trade me with a yellow fish and a brown fish with orange eyes. The lady didn't know what they were but said that she had bought the fish from a pet shop for around $20. The yellow one also has orange eyes and silver spots. I'll try and put the auction number on here to see if anyone can tell. I am also wondering if I could put anything else in here as well and what plants I could grow? The number is 440343629 I tried googling but just got horribly confused
zuri08
severums that tank is WAY WAY too small for them those get to be very big fish and require a bug tank like 500 litres.my opinion get rid of them and get some small fish
ryanjury
Golden severum and maybe an oscar it is hard to tell when the fish is up on an angle (it looks like it was about to get a hiding). Either way the tank is too small for them..
karynjoy
Ok I have a really big tank at home doing nothing at the moment because I can't figure out how to get the canister pump to prime ... Any hints there as well. There is one very hardy and lonely guppy in there and some plants!
Squirt
If it doesn't have a prime button, suck on the out tube until the canister is completely full and then plug it in and it should work.
karynjoy
I tried that but it didn't want to move the water through far enough really frustrating. It kept making bubbling noises in the canister .
GrahamC
You can try putting the cannister into a tub first so you don't get water everywhere, take the lid off, and then fill the cannister with tank water to the very top. Then put the lids back on and then try priming it. Note that the cannister has to be well below the tank so that the siphon works effectively as they usually use gravity to feed, and then a pump to return. karynjoy
I might see if there are any for sale on here and get everything moving again. Can someone direct me to the sale thread please?
GrahamC
Oh, and bubbling might mean you've got an air lock inside the cannister .. so trying to prime it fails. Tilting it around to move the bubble sometimes works. Also don't have the exit tube inside the water .. leave it outside as that pressure might stop it working. blueether
Oh, and bubbling might mean you've got an air lock inside the cannister+1 You can try tilting it right over and giving it a jiggle to get it working.

Ira
Look like a gold and a green severum. Little baby ones from the looks of it if they fit in that bucket.
Hamstar99
Drag the garden hose in side and poke it up the intake hoses. Fill up the canister till it is coming out the out take and you have blown all the air out. then it should go.
