cracked 650 litre, repair advice please?

i woke up this morning to my 6x2x2 foot tank spewing water out of a crack which spanned the entire length of the tank. i have my suspicions as to what caused it, but that's another story.

i would like to repair it, or pay someone to repair it.

what would be the easiest/cheapest/best way?

appreciate any advice.

When I did my 700 I smashed the broken piece off the rest of the sides and carefully cut the silicone bits out then totally stripped the tank. I ordered the right size piece (Greg should be able to sort you out) and siliconed the tank back together. You need a couple of people to do the resilicone work when it's time to rebuild so just shout and I'll come round to give you a hand.

You can just replace the panel without rebuilding the whole tank too :)

thanks mate. as you know, when tanks crack i usually just give them away lol

i have also been advised that i could order a piece of glass the same size and silicone it on to the bottom under the cracked piece, creating a double layer, also silicone along the crack in original piece. are there any disadvantages or risks doing it this way?
