Here we go! Today I feel like I have FINALLY finished my first proper display tank :happy1:

Added a school of 25 Neons and put a tropical bulb in the light hood.

Pics as of today are below (Tank looks 100x better in person!!). If anyone wants to see the progress pics let me know and I'll upload them :happy2:

Thanks! I did what you said and didn't do any water changes for a week, and I got it tested today and it was sweet :happy2:

I'll up the water changes for a bit until the bacteria has time to catch up.

Mum saw him at Animates today and couldn't resist  She has a thing for them and paid for it and all (my last one passed away last week of old age). This one is really stunning, red with a gold underbelly and blue flecks like a ram

Just the fact that it's officially cycled, I finally got a new bulb in (original was broken when I got the tank) and I'm happy with how the scaping is looking

No doubt it'll be re-arranged again in a couple of weeks! I'll think of it as properly finished when I have the guppies out, and I get some cories, a fancy plec, and a couple of blue and golden rams. Then I'll have everything I wanted when I planned the project :smln:

Thanks guys :D I love the classic community and wanted to start with something simple.

I am keen on loaches but I didn't know what species to get, I'll have a look into dwarf chains!

This isn't my only tank, I have 4 other small ones  Next big one will be when I can save up for one! Being a student and an un-paid intern, cash is hard to come by!

Yeah the lotus is looking kind of sad but I'm not too keen on adding ferts etc. Plus the fish eat it :o That can't help! I've seen the guppies, BN and neons picking at the leaves! I was watching a female guppy and she kept picking at it until she'd eaten a whole leaf! :o

Today my project was to set up my neglected 2ft tank in my room and re-vamp it. I ended up using the left over plants to make a sort of mini version of the big tank down stairs. I'm really happy with it :D I missed having a nice tank in my bedroom. At the moment it's housing a couple of young GBAs and my albino snakeskin guppies. If anyone has any stocking ideas (tiny fish that will go with the guppies) let me know :D

Here's a (bad - the waters still a tad murky from planting) photo of the new tank :happy2:
