Li@m
Photobucket is down for a few people apparently so the photos of my afternoon's work will have to wait :nilly: There doing an update to make it faster.
SamH
There doing an update to make it faster. Well so far it's not working Got a heap of plants off "myfishybusiness" this evening, thanks again dude!
Sophia
Marine - too hard, too expensive Ant, what other small cichlids can I have in a 60L tank? Maybe you misread and thought I said 600L :sml2: Today I was thinking more on turning it into a currenty loach tank with gravel, rocks and sand, and some suitable plants. Maybe get a powerhead and get a couple of suckers, depending if they are compatible. Then I'd use the crypt loach/corydora tank for a pair of apistos or rams perhaps. Something a little sedate to reflect the calm atmosphere in there and lots of hidey places in the plants. check out this shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/chicksinhats I love it!
SamH
Hillstream loach tank feat. WCMM and shrimp High flow, high O2, minimal planting, would look wicked! Kinda like this
Sophia
that's really cool. You can get rocks with white quartz at Thames. I think it still needs some greenery, maybe some twisted val tumbling around in the current. :spop:
SamH
What about some hairgrass sticking out from between the rocks?
Sophia
not with a 15W daylight bulb I don't think, but yes it would look nice. I'm scared of glosso and hairgrass, they seem so high maintenance haha
SamH
Hairgrass should be okay, I grew it under 1x 6500k energy saver in builders sand with no CO2. Never been able to grow it since though, it's a bit hit and miss. If you can get a bit for free, why not give it a go?
Sophia
yeah maybe if I do that sort of thing how about this for a bit of drooling in dreamland
SamH
It looks so out of place in that tank, it kinda comes out of nowhere and isn't continued in the tank below. More suited to a paludarium, riparium or terrarium perhaps.
Sophia
I admit I just like the idea of a waterfall but didn't watch the vid very long. Would look great in a frog tank... where's blueether, he needs it in one of his native tanks
SamH
So this new tank of yours will feature a water fall?

SamH
Been cleaning up all my fish stuff that's been lying round the house since I started project AA. Got my glassware soaking in bleach so it's ready when I need it. Really bored!
Sophia
have you decided what is going in there yet?
SamH
have you decided what is going in there yet? Nope :nilly: I was thinking Red Whips, Scarlet Badis and a shoal of Neons. But then I read Badis need a species tank. Ideas for a unique "feature" fish?
