DennisP
Why keep fish when you can keep the child in there? If he's naughty, you can put him in there on display when mates come around. Also, I think it needs a paint.

DennisP
Not sure what colour. Is it unpainted? It looks it. Maybe brown? Black may be too strong, same with white. Maybe a dull white? Just to get rid of the unpainted look.

dreams
I do believe that you will need at least a few guppies to start cycling it
hovmoller
The tank stand is made up of 16 legs 200 sqare post and 100x75 4 top running lengths of the tank . two stands where made of 3500 x500 wide Yeah maybe i'm just paranoid here because I am used to designing buildings not to fall over but with several tons of fishtank sitting on that thing I would definitely put some ply or cross bracing on the back/sides to prevent it from topling over in the unlikely event that it was pushed too hard from the side.. Legs are more than capable of taking the load of the tank but without bracing you are only reliying on the fixings to keep it from topling.. Just my paranoid 2 cents worth.. anthony law
ive got to claded it yet so that should be ok i think...as im go to in close where it is as a fish room.
hovmoller
I showed the picture of your setup to an engineer at work this morning and he agree that your current setup is very dangerous.. Even just a few cross bracing timbers between a few of the legs will do the trick until you clad the stand with ply or similar.
smidey
the verticle support is far more than is required but it definately needs diagonal braces, like this in both directions to prevent the stand from racking in either direction. anthony law
ive put steel angle brackets on to stand......so its not going any where. its being cycleing for a week with bristle nose catfish. hopeful on monday ill will be puting in the tank inhabitants......in :bounce: :bounce: this is going to be a rogue tank.. scleropages formosus and tank mates... just fitted ligths
