Ira
Anybody actually done this? =D http://www.kellytarltons.co.nz/Animal-A ... rkCage.htm Do they provide a boat? Because you're always gonna need a bigger boat.

Barrie
go to the National Aquarium in Napier and dive with the sharks without a cage... My daughter and I did it a year ago
Cricketman
Pfft cage diving with 7 gills and nurse sharks... please... the worst ones would be sand sharks, and they still wouldn't come near a diver. especially since your not on SCUBA. And even then, its hardly a cage, more a net...

Cricketman
Sharks Hellll no! :o that 7 gill in the photo, you could probably hang off its fins and go for a ride... they are the pot-headed stoner sharks... so docile it like having a sloth with fins... smidey
that net wouldn't do anything if you were close to it & a shark had a go at you... lucky the sharks are what they are. i would say it's more of a "mental safeness" for punters. Joshlikesfish
Everyone think it'll be worth the experience? My shout for the gf's birthday. Allister_B
Josh, my sister used to work at kelly tarltons taking people for the shark encounters, also cleaning shark poo and feeding them. well worth the the grand total of $49! used to be heaps more. Allister_B
also most sharks in the tank are reef sharks that don't even make a move on people unless your stupid enough to hold a fish in your hand for them so your pretty safe. Joshlikesfish
Congrats on making your first posts! Why don't you introduce yourself? "This is kinda awkward, but uh, i don't have any fish, i have tadpoles" or whatever that was =p I'm keen as for it. It looks mega fun and the sharks are pretty safe =p
malevolentsparkle
I think you can do it without a net too. its cheaper cause you don't swim around as much in a net I guess

Cricketman
The one without cage requires a scuba licence =/ really? A qualified Scuba instructor can take students on a dive up to 6m in "pool or pool-like conditions" for a dive. (PADI regulations) so there isn't really a reason not to, unless they don't have a Instructor on the team, which I doubt. And it would count as your 1st dive on your card towards becoming an open water diver.
