BettaSplendens
Hi guys, Whats the problem with my fighter fish, it pays no attention to females or other fighting fish at all. I mean, they can get as close as they want to him, but he just ignores them! Whats wrong with him? Mike.

SamH
Nothing at all. I have had several gay fighters. you just love them like any other fish  Typical P44  You just have to let them get used to each other, condition them with warm water and the correct foods (live). Or sometimes time apart works well too. HTH.
phoenix44
 put a mirror in front of the tank and see what happens?
diver21
if he does nothing to the mirror i would card him so he cant see any other fish for a few days then remove the carding and see what he does
Stella
Maybe the females aren't worth his attention?
Joshlikesfish
All my fish are straight. My spawn the other day had hardly any eggs and my female wasn't interested from the get go. I assume it was, how do i put this, invoulentry? Try the mirror thing. Maybe the little man is blind? Find a fish he's likely to conflict with. I threw a guppy in with my sad fighter who is happy as larry. Well not any more, that guppy got stuck inside the power head of my HOB. But hey, the fighters happy
Deepsound
 put a mirror in front of the tank and see what happens?Phoenix, you're ab-so-lu-tly not serious... BettaSplendens, listen to me. Indeed, it's very simple to determine the cause of this behaviour. Does your fighting fish wear some eyelash extensions ? Have you found some lipstick in the tank ? Does he still go by his maiden name ? Did he ever try to wear his sister's fins ? When you bought him, did he wink, especially to a muscular kissing gourami for instance ? Ok, ok. Sorry. Let's get serious. The ultimate test --> Try this : If your betta begins to clap his fins and turns into an indian, a worker or a cowboy... You just put a vid on youtube. Millions views for sure. And add a makeup kit to the mirror suggested by Phoenix (I'm not sure I'm gonna post this) [edit]awww... I'm afraid I did it...

Caryl
I always liked the Village People. Good songs to walk to when doing my exercise as they are a good beat and the right speed  Perhaps your fighter is just not sexually mature yet?
