Red Worm Pictures

Can anyone identify this? It's the same worm in each picture, they only way I can describe it is that's it's leech-like

There's 12 other pictures in the same folder but they're too large to post here they're 001, 002, 003, 020, 021, 023, 024, 026, 027, 028, 029 and 030

I belive they are tubiflex but thats from my memory 25 years ago.( use to by them and store them in the fridge)

When I found some in my tank in the lounge, I gathered as many as I could and they seem to breed OK

I raise them in a small tank with a bit of grave on the bottom with a heater( they only reason I have a heater is that the only tank I had available was a twin tank)

yes barrie i remember the big lumps of writhing tubifex in the fridge to feed the fish :D

Can you just see the reaction nowdays if you were to keep a bag like that in the fridge

Probably have the health police around

My son in law was horrified when we gave the kids a drink from a bush stream at Coromandel over Christmas! Kids loved it and wanted to get some "of that nice water" to take home
