Aquila
Unfortantely no, but several individuals have successfully acclimated Paratya curvirostris to survive at 25-26C. Jury is still out as to whether this negatively affects their lifespan. http://www.nzfreshwater.org/crustacea.html

Aquila
Not yet! Have to convinve MAF/Biosecurity that imported shrimp will not pose a disease threat to native ones.

purplecatfish
There are those ones near the Huka Falls that you can go fishing for. Great entertainment for the kids but unfortunately they won't let you take live ones home.

There are those ones near the Huka Falls that you can go fishing for. Great entertainment for the kids but unfortunately they won't let you take live ones home. Those are native, therefore coldwater. They're rather dull compared to CRS and RCS but the closest thing we can get to tropical shrimp. Here are some threads that might interest you Todd: What freshwater shrimp are available in NZ? Guest
People are keeping some alive in private tanks though. I don't know if it's still alive though as I haven't seen it in a while
Cricketman
I'm pretty sure that the MAF contract that the park runs on states that only dead prawns can leave the park. It is granted on a geographic restriction. Plus it is obviously in the parks favour that other people dont get thier hands on them, monolpoly they have running and all...
