  1. Hi Guys, I am looking to sell my fish soon as i am heading overseas but i have no idea what they are worth. Could you please private message me what you think these are worth - preferably for each fish ratehr than as a package as i will prob sell separately unless someone wants them all etc. I am not sure of all the sexes etc My Fish: 3 x electric yellows - approx 6cm - 2 male & 1 female - i think 4 x tiger barbs - approx 4.5cm 1 x common pleco - approx 15-17cm 6 x silver dollars - approx 10cm 2 x jack dempseys - approx 9-10cm 2 x bristlenose catfish - approx 6cm - 1 male & 1 female i think 4 or five x Jewel cichlids - approx 8cm - a couple of each sex i think sorry for being a bit vague on the sexes, some of them are very hard to tell!! Thanks for your help!!!! if anyone is in dunedin and is looking to buy cichlids in the near future feel free to drop us a message also.
  2. the person who served me wasnt a "fish person" and hence had no idea what it was either. looks pretty cool and wuld lve to know what it is so i could potentially get some more!
  3. just got it from LFS in Dunedin
  4. Hi, This is my dominant electric yellow, he has recently developed strong silver/blue markings around his mouth that i have never seen before. Have these occured due to died/hierachy/food?
  5. HI Guys, Ive had this wee fellow for about 3 months and thought he looked pretty cool but never actually knew what species he is. Any ideas??
  6. Hey guys, I think my female electrc yellow is holding eggs but am not too sure. She is about 8cm in size and is not eatting and looks large under the chin. Does she have eggs? What should i do next? i have never had any of my cichlids with eggs before so i am rather inexperienced with what to do etc..... any advice is appreciated Thanks
  7. thanks, he is being fed tetra colour granules and JBL novo rift sticks, do you think this may cause it? the black stubble has gone away but he mauth and under side of the fish has now got a dark hint to it, it deos seem to change slightly from day to day
  8. yeah, i will add a couple of inches more
  9. heres a pic of my tank i have been setting up everything seems happy even though there is a mix of species and also even non-cichlids
  10. i have four, 2m and 2f. they are about 7cm and i havn't seen any breeding behaviour at all yet
  11. well its a bit of a weird mix in the tank at the mo, i have trialled a few mixes and this one seems to work ok for some reason 4 electric yellows 6 silver dollars 4 tiger barbs 2 kribensis 1 lumphead 6 jewels 2 blue acara 1 livingstonii random mix aye!
  12. most Bristlenoses available are very small (3-4cm) do you think they will survive at this size?
