Insect Direct
Just wondering what sort of career options are available out there. Relating to conservation, herps and or most living things etc?
Carlos & Siran
I always wanted to work for DOC as a ranger when I was a kid, We used to visit Mt Bruce a lot and it just seemed so cool. Never quite got there though..... There's always Dairy Farming........not really conservation related, and the environmental bit irks me a bit. kiwiplymouth
My goal as a teenager was to become a Marine Biologist. I had the brains but was just too lazy back then. I could have been fishing, diving , keeping fish and researching fish. Just like I do now but being paid for it

Aquila
Look into both undergrad and postgrad options. I don't know what your background is currently, but it would really help open some doors for you and you could see what is out there. If you are into herps and conservation, there was a lot of cool research going on with lizards and frogs at Vic uni. I did my undergrad in marine and freshwater bio, and masters in marine, now i'm working for DoC.

alanmin4304
Come on LA you know it is easier to look at it through a microscope and make inteligent grunting noises than it is to shovel it.
Charlie
most zoo/conservation want some sort of educational back ground now... so 4-5 years of study isnt bad if its something you really want to do... Most places require a Masters degree too?
