no, nz is one of a few countries that have banned the importing of live rock. All coral rock has to be dried and dead before coming into the country. It becomes live (a term that really means matured with bacteria/, as opposed to covered in incidential organisms) by being in someones tank (or the ocean :wink: ) for a period to allow the rock to population with various bacterias.

thanks for the info :) , I would love to have a Mantis Shrimp ,as a pet in a species only tank

Note that SOME coral is not allonwed into New Zealand as protected by the CITES convention, even if it is "dried and dead".
