Andrew_W
UPDATE 26-01-09 The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Well this film is pretty long(2h 45m) although it is pretty good, can be long and drawn out at times...Guys this may bring a tear to your eye, so probably best not to watch it with your mates  watching it kind of had that "Froster Gump" feel about it, with Benjamin narrating his life. Slumdog Millionaire Great Film, one of the best I've seen in awhile, not really sure what else to say. This film does live up to its hype, and you shouldn't be disapionted. Eagle Eye I liked this film, had a great twist at the end, and lots of action, and is probably a crystal ball looking into the future. Can't say to much with out giving it away. The Day The Earth Stood Sill Wow what a crap movie...Seems pointless, nothing really happens in the movie...and its pretty much the "we are killing the planet" message...which I'm sure most of us already know. Old: Body of Lies Stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. They work as CIA agents uncovering terrorist operations in Jordon. As far as movies go on this topic its one of the best. RocknRolla Not one of Guy Ritchies' best films, and is another UK gangster flick with twists and turn, like Snatch and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Personally not up to the standard of snatch, so just wait for it to goto DVD. The Bank Job Another UK gang/criminal movie, this time based on a true story. If you liked Snatch and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, but were disappointed with RocknRolla, this movies is for you, full of twist and turns. Australia HOLY be warned this movies goes for 3hours! And can be boring. Some audiences may find hard to understand the young aboriginal boy who pretty much narrates the movie. Set In the time of the stolen generation and Japan bombing darwin. Ladies you may like this film, Guys you probably wont. **note: Parents went to the premier where it was filmed...and probably over hyped it so I was disappointed. Transporter 3 Jason Statham returns driving another beautiful Audi. Unfortunately this movies isn't as good 1 and 2...and some of the driving sense look pretty stupid. Ladies Jason Statham does get his shirt off, but I think thats probably all your enjoy in this film Wall-E This movie freaking Awesome, the kids will love it..TAKE THEM!!! Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa Has some funny parts, but nothing to write home to mum about, but it does have animals, so the kids will love this one to. Taken Liam Neeson is kick ass and taking names in this great Movie, Simple but great story line, Ex Spy saves his daughter and there relationship, when she is kidnapped oversea. Zack and Miri Make A Porno Another Seth Rogen film, If you liked Knocked up, and pineapple express, you will love this, its hilarious. Definatly for a young audience, although I could see my mum laughing hysterically at this movie. In case you didn't take the hint from the title it does have nudity, and of course references to sex, so be warned The Wrestler This is a really great film, and who ever plays the lead does an amazing job. This is not just a film for the hard core wrestling fan. Its a beautiful drama which i'm sure most people will appreciate. does contain nudity, and some blood. Quantum of Solace I think I can say this is the worst bond film ever. No cool gadgets, and the Austin last about 2min in the opening scene. The bond girls a pretty average, and he only hooks up with one of them...So Un-bond like...Ladies for some reason you make like the perv, but generally I think you will be disappointed. Bring on Will Smith for the new bond...which bring be to 7 Pounds. Seven Pounds Sigh...I couldn't even sit through the whole movie. How ever from what I hear, if you can sit through the whole movie you maybe like it (its probably 50/50). It seems very very slow, and from what I hear turns into a really sad story(allthough depending on your point of view you may think other wise) Can't say to much more with out spoiling it...but wait for it to go to DVD. Ghost Town This film is Ricky Gervais(The Office UK) Funny. Pretty much he's a boring negative Dentist, and after a near death experience he has the ability to see dead people. And it has a love story thrown in for good measure. I enjoyed it
reef
Quantum of Solace I also thought it was poor. big let down.

mj
fix your sig please. usually a case where I call respect your "elders", 5 years longer on here than you so I personally would have used a little tact... anyway back on topic.. yeah quantum was a let down, just another american movie as was transporter 3 and bankjob ... was just another jason stratam movie to me? Wall-e was a weird one for me.. most love it, I found that eventually it was annoying??? (maybe I watched it too late at night) lots of that type of movie coming out, finding nemo IMO by far the best (and most just try to reinvent it) of the animations havent seen any of the others mentioned though in my to-do list
Ira
Yeah, Quantum of solace was poor. Was there any span of more than about a second without a cut? Seriously, most of the movie it seemed to be at least 2 per second, I know most movies do it quite quickly but they seem to be at the very least slower and far less obtrusive. I watched Diary of the dead a few weeks ago, it was good and I'm pretty sure it's a 2008 movie.
Jaide
usually a case where I call respect your "elders", 5 years longer on here than you so I personally would have used a little tact... He said please so what's the issue? Not sure how longevity on this site means one should instantly incur respect? Wall-e was a weird one for me.. most love it, I found that eventually it was annoying??? (maybe I watched it too late at night) lots of that type of movie coming out, finding nemo IMO by far the best (and most just try to reinvent it) of the animations I love Pixar, though have to admit this didn't quite grab me as their other movies. It was certainly great and they used a different formula, but the different formula didn't sit well with me either - maybe because it was different. Unlike their other movies, it's not one I'd see again. Would love to see RocknRolla as I'm a fan of Guy Ritchie movies (bar the one starring his ex-wife which I haven't seen)

I say it how I see it 8) (my folks always say my mouth will get me in trouble) by the way ira - are you the same ira from dc++ back in the day? back onto movies - I recently watched blindness which had pretty good reviews yet I didn't quite get it also Journey to the Center of the Earth which I thought was "just another Brendan Fraser" movie, I personally thought it tried to do to much or copy to many other movies ... I kept thinking "oh god what are they going to throw in next!" - the original was great <3 James Mason I have over 1700 movies in my collection (just never seem to get the time these days to watch them)
Rozski
And here comes the chick, with a plug for Twilight Some people told me it had bad reviews, but everyone who has seen it that I have spoken to has loved it. And of course I loved it, coz I am a hopeless sucker for stuff like this haha. Excellent music in it too, the soundtracks worth a listen. *runs before the guys can laugh and abuse the movie lol*

I like vampire movies/shows ... if you haven't seen it yet (and like vampires) you will like true blood (tv show with anna paquin soon to air in nz) and moonlight
Wok
Took the family to watch BOLT 3D. It was pretty cool. No daft blue red paper glasses to wear either. just polarised glasses. Well worth watching the 3D version
Caryl
I very rarely go to the movies but recently went with kids to see Madagascar 2. It made me laugh. Gotta love the penguins! [i]"Do you take each other for better or worse?" "Better please" I also went to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Still not sure whether I can say I liked it or not but it was thought provoking and sure stayed in my mind for a long time. Excellent acting from all cast and the special effects were fascinating. Could have been a lot shorter though as it was 3 hrs. I've never seen Brad Pitt in a movie (told you I don't go often) but was very impressed with his acting ability in this one. Can see why he gets nominated for awards.
Luke*
mmm vampires .. I like vampire movies/shows ... keep an eye out for Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans then i worked on it and just did an interview about my time on set with a couple of american review dudes via skype. though it focuses more on the lycans aka werewolves than vampires in this one. I read the book to see what all the fuss was about and to my surprise enjoyed it quite a bit. So went to see the movie a couple days later.... I came out of the theatre going, "well.. that was lame" but on reflection, it wasn't that bad. But I think it could have been done WAY better. Agree with the soundtrack too. Spent quite a bit of time trying to find out what the music on the extended trailer was.
Perpin
Has anyone seen The Day the Earth Stood Still"? Curious to know if it was any good.
Zev
Dare I say - rubbish.... The lost the plot, and it is nothing like the original as far as storyline goes.
