I was spraying water each night using a trigger sray bottle. Stopped doing it as it didnt seem to change anything. Its very humid in there as it has the lid on. Man they are slow growing plants. Also look totally different. all the plants in that submersed setup are also in the emersed(somewhere, as they look totally different) They tend to melt if submersed completly straight away. If it does melt, so long as roots have not been damaged or disturbed, it will grow back in submersed form. Its just patience, and belief that its not dead. (what a mission, was the first time Ive attempted to make a tank, so excuse the messy silicone,lol) I just re-did the silicone on my little tank 'cause it was about 100 and something years old and now it looks terrible. So am I. have got myself a scalpel and awaiting for two flowers at the same time. Crypts have an adaptive feature that prevents self pollenation. The flower matures at two stages. Firstly the female part then the male several days later. I need to cut open the kettle and retrieve some pollen and then transfer to another flower. Easier said than done. supasi Posted August 19, 2009 Author Report Share Posted August 19, 2009 I have a plant that has two flowers at once. I have decided to try and fertilise them. I got hold of a scalpel and a pair of tweezers, and gently cut open the kettle. I removed the male part of the plant and rubbed this on the female part of the other flower.
