We are all still wishing you the best Mark, and remember, at least all that hard work now is worth it cause the Parks all yours and still pumping along! Hopefully with more people coming in etc from all the work we have all done too. And we will definately get back into the swing of things and help a hell of a lot more once Mystics a bit better again. (shes not good mate) But shes holding up and she said he WILL get better cause she wants to visit the Park and meet you and Caroline! (and Morpheus & Nadyia!)

She asked if you and Caroline (together) would mind at all and have seperate photos taken with each of the Lambs for her?  If that would be possible? (she said pweeasee!)

Im working on keeping her spirits up by getting her to focus on the fact that one day she could come and see the park, and could have a pair of Red or Yellow Dragons one day for herself, (ok so its her dream to own a 8ft Tank and have a pair of red or yellows, but would be quite a few years away before we could afford them but hey) she has dreams too, and she has seen how your dreams came true (and STAYED TRUE!) and so she has her own, and keeping her focused on it for now seems to have lifted her spirits quite a bit. Just dont know how long for. :-?

Its late, so better go see if she can get some sleep.

Tuesday September 30, 2008.

Living Art is having a Working Bee this coming Saturday October 4, to get the Park looking spic and span for the Open Day and Garage Sale the following Saturday, on October 11.

The Working Bee has been organised by members of the Federation of New Zealand Aquatic Societies, but members of the public are welcome to come down and help out too. Areas being worked on include the Fernery, Simba’s paddock (the big dog), the area surrounding the carpark (removal of old building material), fence construction, weeding and tidying of paths, pruning of trees, and repairing the playground.

Those who want to help can just bring themselves, or can come armed with building tools, nails, timber (treated preferably), rakes, spades, shovels, wheelbarrows, strong footwear, gloves, old clothes, blower vacs, weed eaters, water blasters, machetes, slashers, loppers, secateurs, etc. People are welcome to bring chainsaws, but must have the appropriate safety equipment and must also hold a chainsaw licence.

The Working Bee will be kicking off about 10.00am, but people are welcome to come throughout the day to help out.

The Open Day will run from 10.00am – 6.00pm and entry to the Park will be free all day – a way for Living Art to thank you to the people of Tauranga for all their support during their recent struggles to save the park from going under. People can wander throughout the Park, visit the baby animals in the Petting Zoo, check out the Reptile Room and Aquariums, see the little Natural History Museum that seems to grow each week, and picnic by the Lake, or partake of the sausage sizzle that will be running on the day.

We will also be holding a Garage Sale to raise funds for the Park, and people are welcome to donate goods prior to the day at the Park. The Open Day will also see the first big volunteer recruitment drive for the Park as it moves forwards – people wishing to sign up as volunteers can do so at the Park on the Open Day, or can do so on-line ahead of time via the website on the Volunteer Work page.
