July 22, 200818 yr comment_253064 Is the tank new(ie has it been running long?) Brown algae is common in new setups and will dissapear on its own so long as water conditions are good. I currently have tha same in my Geo setup and it has been running for several weeks now. HTH Report

July 23, 200818 yr comment_253353 i've had a problem with brown algae the last 8 months or so, i looked on the net and it said silica sand leaches silicate out but i have coral sand, do you think it could also be leaching out some silicate? Report
