how long will take

Featured Replies

my tank was a bit cloudy so i put some seachem water clarifier in it says on bottle it will take 1-2 hours to clear, ok its the secound day now and it is worse than when i put it in

The question is what is causing the cloudyness.

Suspended particles such as dust etc from gravel

Green water(algae)

Bacterial bloom, possible caused by overfeeding

You must diagnose the problem before you can fix it.

I agree whole-heartedly with this. I think shops like to sell us a chemical for everything (that's where they get their best profits). Adding chemicals to your tank should only be done once you know exactly what the problem is, and exactly what you are trying to achieve.

The water in my tank is a little cloudy at the moment, too. I will be checking the filter media today (and possibly adding a finer material to the last stage).

i wouldnd of put anything in it, i filled my tank added the salt turned all the pumps on, it took a good week to clear was useing filter wool too changed every other day

Since it is getting worse my guess would be a bacterial bloom. But what ever it is, it will be because it's a new tank, just sit back and give it some time, you can't add fish or anything for a while yet so just relax and enjoy planning what fish you are going to add.

there's one i believe called "Accuclear" that i got from goldfishbowl in hamilton i was surprised that it actually worked a treat! try that stuff.. fixed up new tanks i started quicksmart.

tried api accuclear my tank is still cloudy also put in some filter wool still no good what do i do now

With a newly setup tank this is to be expected.

Do lots of large water changes and it will go away soon.
