mitzy
if you dont have luck on here of getting a cave You could just get a coconut and take all the meat out and use that , they make great caves
Matthew
Bamboo tubes of around an inch diameter are good. Alternatively plastic tubing of about the same size (pressure pipe etc) easy to buy from a hardware store
Simian
Go for the plastic pipe, block off one end, just tight enough for them to get in and out with a wiggle is successful for me
Naz_Nomad
Or just do what I did... Leave the BN to breed in the community tank. My experience so far is that if you have a breeding set-up, babies appear in the community tank and the fish in the breeding tank sit and look at each other and don't seem to feel in the least bit randy. My BN bred with surviving babies with no special caves.
Jatt16
Thanks All who replyed I will probably have one cave made out pcv tube in my breeding tank for one pair and the other pair can stay in the community tank. Then ill wait and see which pair spawns first Thanks again
Ira
Making a cave out of PVC piping is abit of a waste of time. Just get rocks, pile rocks, done.
Barrie
upside down clay pot with a bit of the rim chips out... Casserols idea and worked well for me
Guest
Me and casserole were talking about it yesterday and he sent me a picture of how he makes them. It's just a pot turned upside down with a hole cut in it. this is what I'm going to try when I get a female to breed with.
Caryl
Try asking at gardening places or the red shed for broken pots and get them free

Guest
  I thought it was a pretty good pic and well made one. It would've been better if it had the male gaurding his eggs though
enzoom1
I've made a pretty cool cave for my bristlenose. All you need is a 9cm Terracotta pot, a saw of type (hacksaw), acetic cure silicon and a silicon gun. Cut the pot length ways down the middle trying to keep the line as straight as possible, glue the large open ends together, leave to dry for about 3 days and your set to go. I may not hav explained it very well so heres a website about it... http://thefishcave.com.au/caves_area/diy_caves.html its really cool and my bristlenoses love it. note: I didn't use glass because I didn't have any but it works just as fine

MarkLB
He's an easy 10cm. He has two ladies around 9cm each. He just finished guarding a brood from one GF which became free swimming yesterday, and today the cave has a batch of eggs in it from his other GF
Guest
I'm sooooo jelious (sp?). eventually I'll find a female or two. I'm going to lfs this weekend to hunt one down. My males never use the pipe that I put in the tank so I ended up taking it out. I'd try the pot i've heard of slot of people breeding them in there
Jatt16
Heh Cam i got my female off Adodge, i think he has more but not sure pm him. He will propably ship them. Thanks
MarkLB
The terracota pot has always worked for me. When I up graded my Community tank I put the pot in the same place in the new tank as it was in the old tank and he always chooses it as the honeymoon suite
whetu
I have a spare terracotta pot if anyone wants it (free to a good bristlenose home). You would need to pick it up from Avondale. Please pm me if interested. This is a general invitation so if Manmeet doesn't want it, others are welcome.
Adrienne
Or just do what I did... Leave the BN to breed in the community tank. My BN bred with surviving babies with no special caves. Well put. Thats exactly how mine breed too. The breeding tank only has adults and my bn including the pair Manmeet has now bred in the fighter tanks using the holes in the driftwood for caves.
