Afrikan Posted June 10, 2008 Report Share Posted June 10, 2008 We used to run a dehumidifier in lounge, and yeah it worked a treat... if you have good secure tank lids it won't drop your tank down too much, yet no lids then yeap there goes ya water :lol: We have an HRV unit in now and everything in the house is so dry, no condensation no nothing... well worth it 8) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

whetu Posted June 11, 2008 Report Share Posted June 11, 2008 The key message is: Make sure you have good, tight-fitting tank lids! If there is a lot of evaporation from your tanks, then that will be adding to your condensation problem. Whether you use the dehumidifier or not, make sure your tanks are nicely sealed. I had it half fill which is 25cm at 30 degrees with 1700lph of filtration, in a cold room,and a couple mornings later it was below 20cm, maybe around 18cm. So thats more around 40L but still alot!
