yeah i know this has been done before, but im starting to get frustrated haha!

I Love the look of what Vinson has done here

http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/my-glass-cats-under-moonlights-vt29361.html but i cant for the life of me find the parts to do my own, ive tried e-mailing different LED companies in NZ but none of them want to reply!

Any one got any ideas on what i can do? it probably doesnt help im definatly no sparky, but im sure i could hook a 12v power supply onto a wire!

if u wanted to be really fussy about everything including the 'correct' moonlight spectrum u could try that lil shop half way down blenheim road that specialises in leds

Hmmm, cant recall such a shop. Do you think you could try to remember the name for it please?

I have one of the DSE type LED strips and was thinking of adding another one to it.

Moonlight spectrum? Do you have any references? I would be keen to read them.

Wouldn't it vary exponentially depending on which latitude your fish came from?

And the fact that the moon is only out at night for a limited amount of days per month not counting cloud cover.

And would it even matter in the slightest unless you were trying to breed fish which were nocturnal spawners???

Personally, I think, while it's not purely aesthetic, that as far as fish health you're probably better off spending the time and money on a cheap chair to sit in front of the tank thinking happy thoughts at it.

But it does look nice.:)
