my4age
i bought the 1st peacock under 'nyassa peacock'. From my understanding, nyassa is another name for lake malawi. so yeah, not entire sure what he is :-?
Johannes Visser
Hi I am no expert but the second fish don't look like a peacock! look a bit more like a Electric blue Hap ? But I could be wrong
peanuts
the first fish will be impossible to id till he shows a bit more colour, the second looks to me a lot like a copadicromis azureus.its the shape of the forehead but that could just be camera angle. smidey
Hi I am no expert but the second fish don't look like a peacock! look a bit more like a Electric blue Hap ? But I could be wrong it is similar but has some colouration on the end of the dorsal & around the anal fin which my males do not have at all, females a little but they are much less coloured. the first pic may be something along the stuartgranti lines. firenzenz
all the nyasses are hybrids Aulononcara nyassa was a descrptive term for any number of Aulononcara Sp. Lake Nyassa -the old colonial name for malawi or Nyassaland,. but not necessarily a hybrid. That seems to be a recent label for 'lazy' people. What ever they are they are 'well/over' fed. #1- without history pick a number and hope for big wednesday. #2 -would expect more in the way of utaka spots to be 100% sure of Azureus. firenzenz
Yeah -better that way than skeletons! You have a lovely Kadango male . This shot- It's a few mths old but a shot of my Azureus male as Juvi Azureus are notorious as cross breeders- I've found the males to be very subordinate and very unprotective of their females. And from what i've read they are easily rolled by most other Utaka males. It's a lovely fish but I guess the hard question now is-can you be 100% on what it is?- whatya think? my4age
It's a lovely fish but I guess the hard question now is-can you be 100% on what it is?- whatya think? It is a tough 1, i'm not 100% sure if the 2nd fish is a peacock now. i remembered his dad is quite big, well, bigger that any peacock i've seen. nice Azureus u got there, firenzenz. i might get one myself when i manage to sell off my mbunas
