They can eat fish, however i doubt it would eat a sixline. did you check behind the tank as sixlines can jump out.
  2. You Forgot to mention that you have a 50,000L pump running them The German quality is of course the best.
  3. Here is a review for the red sea skimmer http://www.pethobbyist.com/petproductreview/view.php?id=6 The bottom line is that you pay for what you get. Any skimmer will skim however will they skim consistently in the long term.
  4. I think the review pretty much covered that the Deltec was the best hangon skimmer. Resale value is also so much better. None of the parallel Imported Deltecs are covered by warranty as Deltec will not cover them.
  5. No offence but i really doubt you have any idea how skimmers work. did you actually read the review. The last time you said seios where better than a stream.

  7. It is not worth it to importing for your self, especially if you don’t have any experience. Since you are in Auckland try Jansen’s or Hollywood as they do give discounts for large orders and you will get a better selection as everything that is imported is not perfect. It is not a production line where you can guarantee that you will get everything you order. The hobby is small enough so it is better to support the shops if you want marines in the future.
  8. The Deltec is by far a better skimmer. Here is an updated review of the Deltec hang on. Do a web search? You should find that the Deltec mice 600 is a very good skimmer. All mce600 have new parts so they don’t make much noise. The mce600 was nosey in the past however Deltec owners have had replacement parts posted out to help with the noise. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2006/7/review
  9. Got some purple up. did not seem to do much to my corraline algae.

    Cynao

What i believe is that cyno is a sign of nutrient buildup. it your case it could be from overfeeding or high tank load.. too many fish. i am sure mr trigger eats and shits heaps You might need a quality skimmer. I sometimes get some cyno in my sump from all the frozen foods i feed as i have to feed heaps to keep the anthias alive.
  12. Not these. , its the red pocillopora craps that kill morrish idols.

That Atlantic tang is a stunner. Tank is also looking in top shape.
  14. I really doubt it would be doing any damage. Its a baby. i have ones twice that size in my tank. never cause any problems except move coral.
  15. Still think it is excess co2 causing problems.
  16. take a pic? see if you can move some with a stick, should be able to see if it is flatworms. If flatworms could also be from to much co2 going in the tank.
  17. calcium reactors can be a good source for cyno as they can dump a lot of co2 in the tank which adds food for algae etc. Started to get cyno a few months ago as i was putting in way too much co2.
  18. dont worry about ph. mine goes between 7.8-8.10

  22. Colour looks better in person I think they are looking to get a few acros. Got some quality equipment going onthe tank like Deltec ap851 skimmer and 2 x 6100 streams. Lighting will be 2 x 250w halides with t5s. Hollywood also has a 5ft Fish only tank going in with some feature angel fishes. About time a shop had a nice fish only tank.

    Auckland reef tank

I agree with you puttputt . It does work but in my opinion more for advanced hobbyist looking for an edge. Puttputts tank is pretty impressive without using anything.
