  6. Found some info Jasen Shaw, Director of Petlife Distributors (1995) Limited (Struck Off)
  7. Anyone know these ex kiwi's. Apparently they used to own a pet Business in NZ. Anyone know Jasen Shaw A PETA member working undercover for months led the march that ended with a raid on a North Texas exotic animal wholesaler. Rescuers seized at least 20,000 animals from U.S. Global Exotics. An affidavit revealed US Fish and Wildlife Department seized documents and computers six days before Tuesday's raid. News 8 talked with a friend of the owners who said she cannot believe they are in the news, once again. "I don't believe that they intentionally harmed these animals and let them go like they did," the friend said. The PETA member claims he saw countless cruel acts, including the death of 67 reptiles that died from illnesses, cruel confinement and a lack of food. Ten pythons allegedly died, crushed under the weight of other snakes. The report also indicated hamsters were cannibalized, eaten by others because of a lack of food While the friend didn't want her identify to be revealed, she said Jasen Shaw, the owner of the business, has been investigated before. News 8 had previously interviewed him about the prairie dogs he exported. The animals were examined by federal investigators for possibly spreading the Monkeypox virus, causing several people to get painful blisters back in 2003. Shaw denied his animals were the culprit. "Everything is healthy and the animals have been fine," he said in the 2003 report. Shaw has not returned News 8 phone calls to respond to the new allegations over the sick animals, which the SPCA and Humane Society rescued. There were only up to eight workers caring for the thousands of animals. The friend the said the owners had a problem keeping workers. "They just couldn't keep a good staff, for whatever reason," she said. One worker said he took on enough work for three people and admitted to extreme understaffing and no expertise with exotic animals. "I try not to judge them, but I can't believe that this got out of hand," the friend said. "It is a catastrophe. It is horrible." http://www.wfaa.com/home/Affidavit-reve ... 59177.html

  14. Taxifolia is no better than the other caulerpa. they all grow very fast.
  15. I am sure there is others that i did not mention. the ones i listed just came to mind. Taxifolia is illegal as it is classed as a pests. http://www.biodiversity.govt.nz/pdfs/se ... n_plan.pdf
  16. Following caulerpa is available Caulerpa sertularioides Caulerpa Mexicana Caulerpa racemosa Caulerpa verticillata Caulerpa webbiana Montagne . Native nz caulerpa. Found this to be the best caulerpa as it does not crash. New zealand water contain many species that can be used in a tropical tank. No Caulerpa can be imported, none are illegal except for Taxifolia .
  17. Tunze have fixed all the clip problems last year on the nano pumps. The plastic was faulty. Any issues with clips breaking is not a issue as they are replaced . Seeing your tank is pretty big, i doubt a Tunze nano is going to do much. You need something like a 6065. here is some info. http://www.tunze.com/149.html?&L=1&C=NZ ... zeprod_pi1
  18. I also thought it was poor. big let down.
  19. do you have photos of the tank? how much water movement do you have? they need lots of current.
  20. All that does is create a short term fix. People have to learn to live within their means. Debt has to be repaid and borrowing more money will not help. I say raise the interest rates and give people tax breaks if they save, Stop all chinese imports and raise prices so companies can make money and pay decent wages. We think it is great to get goods cheap , but all that does is impact on nz companies who will stripe staff so they can reduce overheads.
  21. Banks have only lent 100% to selected clients and only for personal clients. Borrowing 100% to buy a house is not a problem if you can service the loan. I doubt at the time house prices where grossly inflated. That was the market at the time and that was the valuer of the home. The recession is not all about house prices etc, its also human nature to want everything cheap which in turn drives cheap products from china which puts pressure on nz businesses. On top of that employees want better wages?, how can you give employees better wages if business's have to drop their margin to compete with cheap chinese imports. Basically you cant so you close the doors or reduce staff.
  22. To good clients Banks will still do 95% lending. The problem the world faces is that we live in a credit world where we live for today and dont worry about the future. Its going to take some time for things to get better and lowering the interest rates does not help. all it does is stuff our currency and prices will keep going up. who knows how to fix the problems we face.
